About the apartments, what you're describing is something that used to happen a long time ago but is nowadays less and less common. Most people just don't live in the city. Even I, born and raised in Lisbon, moved to the outskirts of Lisbon when starting my own family. Have to commute everyday but housing market is far cheaper.

Yulia, based on what article did you apply for residence card? As far as i understand it took just 2 weeks to get a card after you applied, so its super quickly. How long did u wait your appointment?

We got our appointments scheduled from Canada, so we didn’t have to “wait”. We had set dates when we got our visas. We have D7 visas 👌🏼

I would love to know what documents you needed for your cat, and was it easy finding an apartment with a cat, I know many people would be worried that the cat would destroy their furniture, I also have a cat and would be moving with him....

From my experience, Portuguese landlords are okay with cats. We had no problems with any of the potential landlords. As for the cat documents, I used this link: www.pettravel.com/immigration/Portugal.cfm

Когда я находился немного вдали от толпы в центре СПБ, у меня всегда было ощущение, что русские говорят по-португальски (фонемы). Hi Shaik! It depends on what your end goal is. Portuguese education isn't the strongest in the world but it's definitely an affordable option for international students. As for the job market and the Portuguese language, I think it depends on the company. you can check jobs and requirements at Glassdoor and LinkedIn :)

1 week 😉 what you've described is applicable to people who came to Portugal on a visitor visa, stayed and applied from inside of Portugal. I got all my papers done in Canada, so I got my residence permit once I came to Lisbon
