It's totally bogus that you're not allowed to film in public in Portugal. What you cannot do is to purposefully focus on specific people and film them without their consent. But suppose you're recording yourself or recording a building or a square or whatever, and you're not focusing on specific people with the intent to film them, in that case you're totally allowed to capture people in the background and no one can ask you to delete the footage. If you're recording people and using the footage for commercial purposes, then you have a problem. But generally speaking, it's legal to capture random people on your footage.

I love your video. Moved here in Cascais in 2012. I agree with what you said… totally 👍 and people should know that. Your video is a reality check for all those who would like to move here without having stayed for 4 to 6 months especially during winter. However, Portugal is also endearing and has a lot of things to offer for “tourists” but as you said, Portugal is NOT for everyone. I’m one of those who were prepared when I moved here. Hello Ok so most of your info was good however some of your info was inorrect. For example the gas prices … yes those prices are correct however you are comparing 94 to 88 … portugal has better gas as there lowest rating where here in canada we get some pretty shitty gas for cheap. Also rent Yes montreal maybe cheaper however most ppl live in the gta and unfortunately over here rent is 2000$ - 2500$ for a studio appt owned by some pretty shitty ppl … there is no rent control for the most part. Lastly You comparison is unfair your comparing Lisbon to montreal… you should be comparing Lisbon to toronto ( biggest city to biggest city) if you did that im sure Lisbon would win bar none

I am a US citizen and I am myself trying to be leaving the US to make a long story short. I’ve made videos before myself explaining why I’m leaving America. There is a terrible situation and high inflation with crumbled infrastructure and terrible living conditions with very limited resources and freedoms, just to make a long story, short trash, graffiti piles of poop and filthy sidewalks in the cities because of the homelessness and high inflation has become overwhelming and America is starting to look like a third world country. We’re called the American dream and the land of opportunity. I went from my first apartment to San Diego, California in 2019 then having my second apartment in the northern part Cincinnati are the lockdowns of 2020 and I have my third and last apartment in Miami, Florida before I lost everything in the economy went under, I went from doing a job that I enjoyed every day working on starting my own business to living in my car and now back to living with my toxic family working at a shitty job not making real money where there’s a lot of discrimination and mental use and that lifestyle alone is what makes America a third world country and is the reason I am constantly learning and growing on how to leave the country and expand my career, which is why I came to this video
