Recently the russian propagandists launched a new interesting campaign, calling to immigrate to Russian Federation. I decided to ask my friend Ivan about his opinion on this.

Thank YOU Ivan for being patient with the questions, the people who are so curious about the ordinary people in Russia. Thank YOU Starsky for having Ivan speak openly and freely. Ivan is so right, if the theft and corruption from the Oblast administration to the Kremlin was stopped completely, that country would be one of the more prosperous in the world. Unfortunately it will never be until the corruption, thefts and abuses quit.

@@StarskyUA Why is there one single Russian oil and gas pipeline, ship, facility still standing ? Americans want to help, but if Ukraine is not going full force to win this then our support will lessen.... The draft age in Ukraine needs to be changed...... In USA it is 18 yrs old ....... Like I said, either get with this and win it or dont get upset when support weakens ....... Russia can not fight if they do not have money ..... and more

@@StarskyUA Ivan is a fishy guy Starsky. I used to watch him, when he fled to Turkey, at the time he actually had some good insight on some of the new nonsense, authoritarian laws that were and still are rolling out from the Kremlin. Not his usual 80% of content which is eating and driving. But he basically scammed his viewers. People donated to him, thinking that they are helping him to start a new life and he himself was very worried and alarming about russia. Then he started going somewhere, video after video, with no context as to what is going on, driving...somewhere. And then surprise-surprise, he was back at russia. Gone were all the worries and he even started to make some videos about the same subjects that the propagandists do. Going to that tasty mac or whatever, food prices, new russian lada soft promo and so on. Now he wasn't worried about being mobilized at all, laughing it off. Some even started thinking that he might have become a Kremlin influencer and got a promised exception from being mobilized, for him to have such a change of attitude. To be fair, his takes seemed to be his own at least, he wasn't praising everything to high heavens. Still, at minimum, he milked his viewers with false pretenses and I wouldn't be surprised if Thailand is his second vacation and he'll go back to russia again like nothing happened.

I heard similar notions about Germany. Ok, idk intelligence on Thailand, but German one says there are more Russian agents, covert, official, unofficial and open ones, than at any time during the Cold War. I'm afraid it's not better in US, i would bet it's worse but not advertised. There is some protection by counter-intelligence and LEO, but many defectors have been killed with strong LEO in Europe too. The safest countries are probably those with harshest anti-russian-influence laws like where i'm from. Baltic states.

Thank you so much for doing this livestream, Starsky and Ivan (and the Mods, of course). If only all russians could see how being civil can bring something positive, and be of mutually educational benefit to everyone. It may be as awkward for Ivan, and some russians, as it is for many of us right now. But I think your guest will have a good understanding of why that is. So it was good of him to be here with us all tonight. We just hate russia's wars on other nations, as anyone sensible would in the 21st century. There were some excellent questions asked by chat tonight, and by Andrii. Very interesting! My big concern is always going to be for the children and younger generations in any country because they inherit whatever state we leave our own countries in for *them;* not for ourselves. That was why I asked the question I did, hopefully in a way that wasn't too awkward for Ivan to answer, in that at some point there will be a change in who is in office inside russia. Thank you so much for answering that well, Ivan. I think it's sad that many inside russia won't get the chance to get to know the whole world, one way or another, be that via internet or travel, and even if they do, what can they do to affect their own nations' future! In my opinion, it's good to know that some people care about how their own country is seen on the global stage, with regard to international relationships worldwide; and not just how it's seen by a percentage of the whole world. That doesn't seem like a healthy way to be in modern times. 'nuff said! Thx YT/Starsky's chat family 💙✌💛

That was one of the best shows yet. Thank you both! Going to check out his channel. Ivan is blessed to have grandparents who wanted more for him, and for him to be educated in another country. He pretty much nailed it when he said some people have lived in their own little village their entire lives and that is all they will ever know. Moving around, visiting other places, meeting people from different cultures, sharing ideas and experiences is the only way to open your mind to anything new and/or different. I also liked the story of his history teacher explaining you need more than one source of information to get a clearer picture of the truth.

@stevemcgowen I guess the same, but i haven't heard that in a year since i listen to uncensored bad news from Russia. At least he shut up about Crimea (should still ask him whos is it tbh) and crushed Carlson's credibility by calling him out after Putler's "interview". I know he's still democratic-Russia's (non existant concept) patriot and a religious right-winger, but that is probably what gives him drive and moral grounds for activism. I don't want to defend someone with his upbringing and culture from valid criticism, however taking a step back, in the bigger picture, imho people like him is a net-positive for western democracies and Ukraine too, if by proxy.

@dannydetonator 4 ай бұрын
@stevemcgowen I guess the same one. Have not heard about it, but seems he shut up about Crimea and crushed Carlson's credibility after Putler's interview by calling him out. There are part of russian opposition "foreign agents" with good intentions who're still under partial lifelong Kremlin's propaganda spell enough to believe Crimea should not be returned to Ukraine. Some of them are just pretending to be really on Ukraine's and western democracies' side, however i doubt Konstantin is ome of them. Anyway, i'm not here to defend him or anyone with his upbringing and "culture", but try to take a step back and think. The "enemy of my enemy is my friend" mechanic still apply, even if by his views he wouldn't be a genuine friend of most of us. I mean, his activism on social media and irl is a net positive, both for info-war in "the west" and some Ukrainians as well. Idk how much money he has rised for Ukraine (i think he did it occasionally), but his breakfast club have both Ukrainian and Russian refugees getting help, forging friendships, etc. What he's doing on YT are waking up some westerners from poisonous, covert Kremlin's propaganda by showing real Russia. That's not enough to show the whole truth and acq about war in Ukraine
