that is very interesting! krusevac is my hometown and I've never met a foreign person here before. whenever I even run into one on the street, I'm slightly taken aback, considering krusevac isn't really as popular or "flashy" as some other major cities. i'd love to know what your experience has been like. how do my fellow townsmen treat you? does the language barrier set you back in any way? and most importantly, how do you like the food?

If you are about to visit Novi Sad I'll be glad to be your tour guide. Serbia is so divers country full of contrasts and different mentalities but people are generally very friendly towards foreigners. Serbia is close to all major European countries and flights to Egypt, Turkey, France, Germany, Moscow, Rome take 1 to 3 hours. Plenty of ski resorts around, 5 to 7 hours car ride to Greek or Adriatic coast make it really a good destination to work, live and enjoy life.

Interesting fact: Krusevac used to be a capital city of Serbia back in 14 century, under Emperor Lazar Hrebeljanovic, who fight against Ottomans on Kosovo (1389). Today there are only some parts of Donjoan Tower (largest tower of medieval fortress) left in Krusevac.

Russia is not just Moscow and S. Petersburg, only a person who knows very little about Russia can say that... there are nice places all over Russia. @@emilpopovic6167 Russia was part of Soviet Union. S. Union had other cities the size of Sankt Petersburg like Kiev, Minsk, Kharkov, Baku, Astana... Economical power was spread to rest of the country true this mayor economical and industrial centers. This is the reason why now days it appears like only Moscow developed and other places in Russia stagnated true history, but that is only the case because Russia was part of larger entity and Moscow was capital of that larger entity. Wealth and resources like Oil, Gas and other ores from Russia were distributed to centers witch are no longer part of country, to build industry in those places. When Soviet Union collapse Russia had to pay the debt of all former Republics and it did by 2017. Now days Russian resources are spreed to Russian cities but Moscow still grow because it is central financial hub, all the banks, bureaucracy and insurance companies are there.

You don’t need passport to go to beautiful Montenegro, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Turkey! When you live in Kruševac (Central Serbia), many locations are very close: Vrnjačka banja (spa) - the most beautiful and most visited spa in this part of Europe, famous SKI centre Kopaonik, also beautiful mountain and city Zlatibor is not very far, some very important Serbian monasteries such as Ravanica and Manasija are close (and many others). Kruševac is from the last year connected by the highway with Niš (1 hour of driving) and Belgrade (one and a half hour), and in less than a year will be connected by the highway with Vrnjačka spa and Zlatibor, famous Guča (by its festival)… For you RECCOMENDATION: you have to go to beautiful Avantura (Adventure) park on a fantastic mountain Jastrebac - it is not far from Kruševac (maybe half an hour)! You won’t regret!

True average salary in Krusevac is around $400-500 per month ($5-6K yearly income). People can manage to make ends meet just barely with those wages and usually a few generations live under the same roof. On the other side, when the US citizen comes in such a small town with a yearly income of $50K, which by the way is nothing special for the US - it's obvious he can live like a king there and he's considered to be ultra rich.

Politicians in Belgrade don't want people commuting from other cities to Belgrade. This would bring Belgrade real estate down. There at least 7 cities just north of Belgrade that are less then 130km away. With Japanese trains it would take 20 min to reach Belgrade city center, much faster then from the suburbs. Politics.

Serb from Kragujevac here, was working for Cooper Tire and living in Krusevac for 5 years. Even for Serbia Krusevac is great place to live, I got 2 kids and brought my first apartment there (still renting it to colleague) as cheep as 400e/m2 with silly interest of 10% over 8year period. I met a lot of American colleagues, most of them become really good friends. I showed them real Serbia, not 3 major restaurants, instead I took them to my village Siljevica for afternoon and give them a private tour of Krusevac National museum. They returned favor when i was in US, took me to our colleagues ranch and shoot clay targets for whole hour, alligator petting zoo and Cedar Point. We both have so much in common, all we want to work hard, feel safe, take care of our families, and we don't want to worry about some war that filthy politicians will start in future. I wish you good health and lot of love in Serbia!

In my opinion, I think a lot of foreigners will start coming to live here because this year we relaxed our requirements for obtaining citizenship. I think a lot of foreigners looking to move here have potential to really improve our country and of course, also secure their own life to be good.

Tap to pay also saved me in Serbia when the ATM did not wanted to take my card, but Samsung pay with is connected to the same card worked. I started watching after googling how to ride the bus in Belgrade and when I went to buy the busplus card, the lady in the kiosk informed me that they hanged the system same week. So it's just SMS-tickets now and it was like 30 cents for city center zone for the whole calendar day.

I would recommend you to go to the city Kraljevo, It's a nice and quiet town and it has nice prices if you search the right places. I would not suggest you to go the big city's prices there can be a bit high and in 60% you can get scammed, If you are looking to spare some money i would suggest moving in a smaller city in Serbia and to get a friend to translate for you if you don't understand the language, You can ask people usually the young folk to translate for you cuz the do usually speak English, Hope this helps you people.

If you are influencer, or you have any kind of job, that you can work from home, no matter where you are. Then Serbia is a great country. You have a same amount of money, but you have everything cheaper, also food in Serbia is so rich and tasty, alot of good places to visit, also nature is beautifull and doesnt look so wild, like somwhere in Asia or South America. But even average citizen in Belgrade, has only about 70000-80000 dinars (600-700 euros) salary. For food you need at least 25000, taxes somewhere betwen 15000 and 20000 in average. If you live in a rented flat of house, then at least 25000 dinars more. So it is very hard for us, to live here.

I haven't needed a translator in any government office... you still need help filling the forms that are mostly in Serbian Cyrillic. For property purchases, hire a reputable attorney as some houses are not even officially registered here or may have liens against the property title.

Hello, you said you have to be now 3 years in Serbia to get your permanent residence. But how much time of a year you have to be in Serbia in order to comply with this?
@bradbeckett
@bradbeckett 19 күн бұрын
Off the top of my head I think it’s 6 months one time or 10 months out of country in the 3 year period. It’s not that hard to stay here and vacation for two weeks here and there to be honest. You probably won’t even want to leave your first year. I don’t recommend Serbia for part timers though. It’s petal to the metal 🤘

I hope the "Charles Cather" don't see this accolades bestowed upon you (Charles started it all with the Serbia 'thing' some 10-15 yrs ago) or he's gonna 'kick my butt'! I wonder if you two ever met?!

Hey could you explain the taxes in serbia? I have read much about it online but there is no clear answer to that. Some say its a flatrate of 20% other say it tops up to 45% taxes. Like what is the income tax and the insurance ? Do foreigner have to pay pension too? Would love an answer about it because I am planning to move to serbia too. Thank you!
@bradbeckett
@bradbeckett 19 күн бұрын
The taxes anywhere can be very low or very high depending on one’s IQ level. Entrepreneurship registrations have a flat tax depending on industry and zip code. But you can only receive like 50,000 euros through that setup.

@bradbeckett 18 күн бұрын
@@eroldfutaschlecka4143 The corporate tax rate in Serbia is currently 15%. I don’t give tax advice because everyone’s situation is unique, and honestly, it’s rarely appreciated when I do. That said, I’d strongly recommend speaking with a professional accountant who can help you find legal ways to minimize your global tax obligations. There’s more to an immigration plan than just comparing tax rates like 10% versus 15%. Other factors are just as important to consider such as how well you are liked and welcomed which is the point of this video.
