You could have saved yourself a whole heap of angst by going retro. If ever you see the classic car rallies the convertible cars have a minimum boot rack secured with suction cups and leather belts. Sometimes the problems have already been solved.

Well done on packing the car. I feel your pain lol we did it last January. Sold up and packed the car with all we had including our dog. We sailed from Rosslare to Bilbao 2 day sailing then about 7 hrs drive to where we live now in La Florida but it was worth it. We love it here. Packing done right! Good job, Steve! We're filling our car in September to go to Torrevieja. We've started test-packing already. Plus, you can ship goods for around 200 € per m3. We'll see if that becomes necessary. Our car is also not the most practical in this respect. 😉

Use leftover 'hooks with straps' to secure front & top of bag to top edge of boot to avoid risk of straps to gradually sliding on front edge of boot? I don't mean to be negative, but the way you have it secured, it looks like straps may gradually slide as you drive. Have a great trip. Good luck on house search.

Thanks for the advise! But all is fine, I didn't show the full extent of how I finished strapping it, but it is unable to slide either backwards nor sideways. I'm looking forward to getting on the road, and I'll be keeping g an eye on the storage bag all the way 😊👍
