Very nice video. You made a great decision. I've been to Thailand many times on both business and vacation and appreciate the exotic nature that permeates all aspects of life there. I'm happily married with a child and recently moved to Florida from NYC for quality of life reasons. If I were single, I would probably move to Thailand. In the end, quality of life is paramount but most people just follow their stressful lives without thinking or realizing that there are alternatives. I commend you for taking the leap.

Thinking of going to Thailand for Christmas this year, any suggestions on a location? it would be my wife and I as well as our 18 and 19 year old sons. Were still young enough (very early 40s) that we like a good time and a couple of drinks but not into clubs or anything like that, more on the beach and shopping, beers on a patio type stuff but something close for the boys to have a good time as well and be safe. Try Kamala on the island of Phuket. Nice big beach, lots of restaurants, some bars. Not too in your face. Season is Nov - end march)

I agree with Richard, Kamala beach is fantastic, so chilled and a great beach. I would also recommend Chiang Mai, in the north, so much more relaxed than Bangkok and a lot cheaper for eating out. Thai massage at one of the temples is 120baht for one hour( about £3) and the same for a foot massage.
