Hi I am a current year 13 student holding an offer for Warwick University. My question is how lenient were Warwick when it came to results day in regards to grades? Did they drop their requirement? As I’m not sure fully with the way my grades will be assessed this summer. It would provide a really good insight for me

Hiya, to my knowledge it really depends on the department. I am doing film studies and the requirement is ABB but I know somebody who got in with ABC. However I do also know some other people that initially didn't make it in when the first grades were released (ACC, BBB). After the government changed it to TAG only, they got in however. As I say, I can only speak for the film department as they all respond differently to these things depending on what size of year group they can accept etc. I'm sorry I can't be more reassuring but I hope you the best and maybe we'll be seeing you this time next year on campus. :)

i’m thinking of putting Heronbank in my top 3 choices for accommodation when i apply. would you say it has a good balance of study and partying? is it a sociable accommodation?

Hiya, on the whole Heronbank is one of the quieter accommodations on campus. However, I happen to be in a friendship group that is very sociable and (COVID being considered) we have flat gatherings and mini parties all the time. If you like the building and the facilities I'd suggest you go with it, don't take the rumours too seriously about nothing going on over here --> if you want to find people with the same work/life balance as you, just go walk around to other flats during freshers to see where your vibe is at. :)

Would you say Sherbourne or Cryfield Townhouses are more sociable?

I'm the least sociable person ever so i never went to sherbourne and i only visited cryfield townhouses once so I can't say from experience but from what i've heard i'd suggest sherbourne is more into partying

Hi, sorry if you said this, but how early did you apply for accomodation, and did you get your first choice?

Accommodation forms for Warwick go out around mid-august so I just filled the form straight after when I received it by email. I don’t think it matters how quickly you do it as long as it’s before the deadline. You have to put down six options in order of preference and Heronbank was my 2nd. I really think it is a luck of the draw because some people get their first choice but others don’t but there’s no tactic to make it more likely. All I know is if you put rootes or Westwood down anywhere on the list you’re very likely to get them

@@eviepollard4663 I think you have to have roughly an even split but I can’t remember now. I chose places like claycroft for that because you only share the bathroom with one other person

Emily R Heronbank was my second choice and so far I’ve not had much of an issue with the wifi considering how many people are on the network. :)
