While I'd never consider living in Whistler, we love to visit for a few days whenever we can! Great video, Stephen! The Sea to Sky highway is gorgeous, with plenty of places to stop for a few minutes to take in the view! Plus, if you are driving up, make time to stop at the Britannia Mining Museum on the way! An amazing place. Don't forget to get in on the really great, expertly presented tour.

Miss this place so much just left, lived there for two years. I will definitely be coming back in a few years after doing some more traveling in Europe and Asia.

Great video. I did a season back in 2013 and was very lucky to find my own apartment for $1400 pm, can’t believe how expensive it gotten in the last ten years! Awesome place to live tho; recommend to anyone!! 🇨🇦

Thank so much for the nice comment Rich! Yeah cost of living has us all a bit rattled! 1400 bucks would be an absolute steal up there now!

Yep, I’ve been considering shaking things up in my life and Whistler seems to be the place for it! I’m so into sports and nature; Snowboarding/skiing during winter, hike & bike trails in summer, great views… How not to love that place. I will be submitting an application and hopefully I get the work permit approved. About staff accommodation, how does that work? Is it free, a monthly payment?
@Moving2Canadainfo Жыл бұрын
You'll have to speak to the employer about it I'm afraid. We imagine it would be monthly as per normal rent but not 100% certain I'm afraid. Its a great place to live and call home though so let us know how you get on when you make the move!

With the accomodation being as expensive as you say, how much does the staff accomodation cost in comparison? And do the jobs pay well enough that you can survive and still afford to have a good time? My biggest fear is running out of money and my job not covering my minimum expenses

Its a great question. Whistler has a ton of seasonal staff that enjoy living and working in the resort itself and they seem to get along fine in terms of salaries and time off etc... That being said, if you're looking at taking long trips or visiting Vancouver every second day it probably starts to add up $$$ wise
@brianuke2301 Жыл бұрын
are housing costs here cheaper than Vancouver?
@Moving2Canadainfo Жыл бұрын
They are not I'm afraid Brian. Being a mountain town with such seasonal demand housing tends to be more expensive in Whistler than in Vancouver (if we are comparing downtown Vancouver) BUT more and more companies are offering subsidized housing as part of employment packages to attract staff.
