( SE ) Spark Energy . Numbers stand for Kilovolt, thousand volt . Engine coil should produce at least 6 kilovolts , 6 X .03937 = .33622 tester air gap .

@@martyturpen4535 One millimeter is .03937 of one inch . One inch is 25.4 millimeters. 25.4 Millimeters X .03937 of an inch = .999998 of one inch . Hope this explanation is helpful . 3/4”wrench = 19 mm wrench .750 X .03937 = .74803 .00197 difference in wrench size .

The last one is more of a coil tester vs spark plug tester. You can see the color of the spark and the width and distance of the flame. You may get a spark from a coil to get it running...but, it may not be strong enough of a spark for best performance

The Trillium inductive "Spark Check'r" is my hands down favorite. Hands free, clip on the wire, crank the engine, walk back around and look at the lights. It's a real timesaver. Much more expensive but mine has paid for itself many, many times over.

Well I've been trying one, and either it's faulty or I am. Many machines show green then yellow. Am I supposed to turn the engine off as soon as the engine starts up or let it running. Yellow means either the plug is faulty or the HT lead is; but the plug is new and the coil + HT lead is new. Can you help me please?

@@johncollins8304 I think it could mean a couple of more things, the first being that the voltage is too high. Generally, when I get a weird reading, it's because Of the way I made the pull. I hit the reset button and do it again, trying to make a smooth pull. I've had a couple of "Iffy" plugs that I ended up replacing because they were old and probably borderline and would give me a green, then maybe a yellow. (In my mind, "Best Two out of Three" isn't good enough for working on someone else's mower. I put in a new one and save the other one for checking stuff in the boneyard.) But first, make sure that you have the correct engine type selected on the side. So far, (since I got the hang of it) every time I've gotten a yellow, it has been the plug (just because it's new doesn't mean that it's good). I've also had one bad coil late last summer, and I got the flashing red. It's got a 60 Day Warranty, if you think that there is actually a problem with the unit. sometimes the clip on ones are hard to fine a place to ground. So much plastic these days. Like on a leaf blower for example.

Salut ami d'outre manche. Je t’écris depuis la France ou je viens de regarder ta vidéo. Pour ce qui est du testeur noir que tu essaie a la 11ème minutes (celui ou on peut régler la puissance avec la molette rouge) il convient de le régler pour une tondeuse sur du 9000V. environ Je m'en suis servi pour tester les bougies de ma caisse et je l'ai réglé sur 35.000V car la bobine envoie sévère. Pour ma part il est très bien et reste de meilleur car fourni une très bonne qualité d'étincelle si il est bien réglé a l'avance. Par contre par précaution je pose un chiffon dessous avant le test pour isoler le compartiment moteur de ma voiture et éviter ainsi tout risque de choc électrique avec un élément du moteur car l'électronique sur les nouvelles caisses n'appréciera pas. En tout cas tu m'a bien fait délirer l'ami dans la façon dont tu présente tes vidéos. Bonne continuation et bon baiser de France.😉

K I have one for you, with a new stihl coil, set up the air gap, with a new or used spark plugs, I get a white in color spark, I put a drop of gas on the plug and spun it and it sparked but did not lite the gas, any idea

Can’t help ya there. I would never just hold a spark plug and pour gas on it and see if it blows up. You are on your own with that one.
