I was reading the comments from Parts I and II and am astonded by the condemnation on the owner. There are reasons why a condition of the yard and probably the home exists - physical disability, hoarding, mental incapacity, inability to get help. It is easy to make judgement and very hard to help someone that is experiencing that condition. The lady jumped at your offer to do the yard. Maybe, if warranted she'll get help for the interior if she needs it. At least you were there to make a start - maybe, just maybe her neighbors will help to maintain the yard now that itis manageable.

You are so correct Ms Lutz. I have a nasty autoimmune system disorder that is triggered by sulfur. I live in the Pacific Northwest where wildfires have become normal each summer and they give off huge amounts of sulfur. Long story short I become a hermit for 4-months living on stored food and filtered air. As such the yard looks great early spring and late fall but in-between no so nice.

Back when I could walk, I took my dog around the block. When I saw a house looking like this I thought the neighbors just didn’t know how to keep it organized and picked up. I used to scour the area next to the street pick up papers sticks. I didn’t go full blown and redo their yard. I wouldn’t have thought of that I would have thought that I would get in some sort of trouble for trespassing. Did anyone else have the same concern. Backspace?

It's not anyone's fault really. I'm a 72 year old widow with health problems... asthma with serious acerbations. That means frequent asthmatic bronchitis. I am not able to mow, especially in heat above 100° and Texas humidity that's been in the 98% range. My yard hasn't been mowed in a year and some of the weeds are more like trees at 7'. I've been waiting on my son to come mow, but with 4 young boys, a full time job with 12 hour days, and his own yard and house to take care of, he just doesn't have a lot of time. It's not his fault. It's just the way things are sometimes. People have their own lives, family, and homes to maintain and sometimes they just run out of time and forget to look around. My yard will get done at some point, but his time with his kids is more important than some grass. I'm glad there are people like Steve, Kevin (Juggernaut Lawn Care), Kevin's Dad (Cabin on the Hill), Spencer (SB Mowing and SB Power Washing), Brian (Top Notch Lawn Care), Al (Bladez Lawn Care), and AP (Clean the City). These are just some of the great guys out there and they are greatly appreciated! As Kevin says, he just goes where the Lord sends him! Thanks again to Steve and all the guys for the great and selfless work they do!

@@dragonmaster4429 Back when I could walk, I had two lawn mowers. I had one running and one in for upkeep. As time went on , I hired a small local company and they charged $35/week. They continue to do the work weekly. My neighbors have never offered to help in any way, not even when I asked to hire their kids. I have thought to ask the neighborhood women to help and also to post a sign on my front door. At one point I called local churches. I remember once perching my toddler on a blanket on the front yard and pushed my gas powered mower around. One neighbor asked if I needed someone to babysit. I answered no that I needed a man to mow. No one helped. Dragon Master I hope one of the fine men you named will help you.
