Honestly the problem isn't that Moxie's behavior is unusual, it's that him doing it to Millie is so sudden. Outside of the pilot, he has never let his insecurity turn on her like that. Not even in small ways. Her outshining him isn't new and he's usually just as starstruck as everyone else. It just feels weird.

The only reason I can give, is that this was Moxxie’s first mission as a leader, and he was taking too much pride in his efforts and wanting to be successful. He let the thought of just HIM succeeding go to his head, and let his insecurities lash out when Millie start getting the spotlight; being desperate to gain the attention she was getting and wanting to solve the case his way instead of her’s., when normally he wouldn’t do that. It was a moment of insecurity and weakness on his part, and since it was just the two of them, he vented all his frustrations towards her. Was he wrong? Yes. But I’m glad he was called out by her and apologized/fixed his behavior.

I feel like if anything, Moxxie is well aware how much physically stronger and more capable Millie is compared to him. Instead, I think it's that since Moxxie is the theater kid between the two of them with the musical and acting experience, watching his wife have an easier time convincing the campers she's human and winning them over rubbed Moxxie the wrong way. Because that's supposed to be his area of expertise. Instead it's a blow to his confidence and that's what caused him to snap at her.

If this was the Millie centered episode, then I'm disappointed. Miliie's moment where she talks about how she finally gets recognition for something other than slaughter comes out of nowhere. All we knew about her before was that she had a loving family. She is so brutally underdeveloped. This would make sense if we had more backstory of her.
@Randomyoutuber-4831 Жыл бұрын
Well she comes from a large family with a lot of siblings and who's to say she wasn't the middle child amongst them? Always being ignored and passed over in favor of her siblings, never being good enough so she resorts to violence and mass slaughter to try and get her parent's attention, gaining a taste for it later on. After all, in Harvest Moon Festival they spent most of their time talking down to her: "We know ya ain't been making that much since ya went freelance.", "your sister doesn't have a neighborhood headcount.", "I can't believe you let him trap you Millie.", "we taught you better Millie.".

Another point I hope they touch on is that although Moxxie is head over heels for Millie, she is the living embodiment of everything Moxxie is insecure about himself. She is strong, self sufficient, secure, and had a loving family and happy childhood. She has everything he wants. I think the episode managed to touch on this without Moxxie actually realizing that’s what the issue is. Because, he’s not mad AT Millie specifically (at least in their falling out), he’s more mad at himself and the teenagers and he’s projecting that onto her.
@YujiUedaFan Жыл бұрын
Exactly! Moxxie spent ages making up a character and tried to be loved by the teens at the camp, but it completely backfires, so then he unleashes his frustrations on the person who he loves the most. I wouldn't say this episode is character assassination for Moxxie, more that he got rightfully angry, but vented at it to the wrong person.
@emmy_the_nbnd Жыл бұрын
He comes from an incredibly uncaring household. He's so cripplingly insecure and starved for any kind of validation that when blitz offers him a way to (in moxxies mind) prove his worth just to be beaten down and ridiculed once again he just acts blindly and irrationally not seeing how he is hurting Millie in the process. BUT they communicate and he changes his behavior accordingly and apologizes to her which is the important part. Still the most wholesome couple. (I also think that to moxie its so blatantly obvious that Millie is the absolute best ((like what you said the embodiment of all he wants to be)) that it doesn't even occur to him that she could be insecure too or that she doesn't feel adequately appreciated either sometimes) Anyways.
@msk-qp6fn Жыл бұрын
Yeah I do think the reason he is so head over heels for her is because millie is practically everything he wishes he was. She is quite literally his ideals and idol. This episode was disappointing because Moxxie being the butt of the joke is getting old. Legitimately, Moxxie’s biggest win so far is him casually killing those wrath imps at the gas station in Western Energy by himself and without his guns no less. Yet, it was just a background joke. Meanwhile, whenever he gets the chance to prove himself, he constantly fails and gets bailed out of trouble by his wife despite the fact that we know he is competent at both long-range and, with that last example, close-range combat. As for Millie not seeing herself as anything special, I think that part of it stems from her coming from a large family, which would mean each individual child getting less attention overall even when the parents try their hardest to give them each their moments. If Millie is the oldest, she may have grown up prioritizing the needs of everyone else since, as the oldest child, she may have felt that she had a responsibility for her siblings and developed a strong maternal aspect to her personality that now extends to her husband who lost his mother at an early age. Edit: I just remembered that Millie also grew up in a low-income family as alluded to in the second episode when she mentions how going to Loo Loo Land was a rare treat when the family had the money. This can further contribute to her not feeling too particularly special because she probably had to share almost everything with her siblings because money was too tight for each child to each have all of their own stuff and things like clothes and toys were usually hand-me-downs.

I enjoy how so many people just assume its possible to get over personal insecurities and lack of confidence in the timespan of a single episode. It's so stupid it hurts. Seriously, it takes time and multiple efforts to build up to that, and it doesn't help that so many characters keep putting him down quickly whenever he does get some confidence.
@pjsmith97 Жыл бұрын
He's been learning the lesson of self-confidence, but he's never had the lesson of stepping aside for someone else. He's praised Millie in what she does because he never felt like he had to compete with her or that her skills ever downplayed what he had going. Their skills have always complimented one another, him with guns and her with close combat. Like SC said, when you look back at the episode and what's come before, it makes sense. Moxxie's put the two of them in a situation where they are both on the 'same' level, social espionage, and Millie is beating him. He's meant to be leading the investigation (in his head), and Millie finds it out in 5 minutes. He tries winning people over with music and fails spectacularly while Millie crushes it. She's doing better at things he's actively trying at, which has never happened in the show. Personally, I still liked Moxxie's character this episode because to me it just emphasized that he's always been a diva, and being called out on it by Millie helped it not become a bitter pill to swallow.

Honestly I can understand Moxxie lashing out at Millie. In every other episode she either completely overshadows him with her pure unadulterated lethality, saves his butt or both. So this is the first time that not only is he put in charge but he’s put in charge of something that should involve skills he’s good at (deductive reasoning), and Millie immediately beats him on that. Then when she gives him time to solve the case his way she effortlessly wins over the campers while he doesn’t. And in the end not only does she solve the case she’s actually the one that kills the target. Blitz doesn’t cost Barbie her job, her contact killing his coworker sets in motion the chain of events that costs her her job. Millie seeing herself as ordinary while Moxxie thinking he should be the best tracks with their upbringing. Millie is just a down-home country girl at heart who was never anything special, while Moxxie is the son of one of the biggest mob bosses in Hell. When Mox was a teenager for real his social group was probably quick to adore him, because as the boss’s son getting on his good side was smart.

Millie being perfect undermines her character so much, they can't write a story for her that doesn't involve other people being the problem. She has no conflict what so ever because she can do everything easily. Solves the case instantly and everyone loves her and can beat up anyone.

Then again - I understand why he was asking her, why she wanted to impress these humans so much. She argues, because it's the first time that anyone ever values her skills outside of killing. And I'm asking myself, has your husband not done that literally every episode? Is his praise not your anchor for everything? There were zero hints I'm aware of in the former episodes, that lead to Millie wanting to be a star or something like that. Imo, you can't form a massive conflict like this between a couple that has been 90% positive towards each other without properly setting it up in their characters.
@defiante1 Жыл бұрын
@@FlameJackstar Agreed, Millie wanting recognition and praise from randoms, humans no less for... being hot in disguise as a guy? Seems such a random impulse desire from her. She isn't bullied at work constantly or made fun of like Moxxie is, her family life isn't terrible, there was no real hint that she was craving such positive attention. If anything all her previous backstory was about her being happy with Moxxie worshiping the ground she walks on and that being enough for her. The whole story feels weird because its like they got the plot priority back to front. What should of been a side story about M&M cross dressing and blending in with humans became the main story, and Blitzo's family reunion was pushed to a side plot and over shadowed massively.
@cathygrandstaff1957 Жыл бұрын
@@defiante1 I wouldn’t say she’s perfect, just like Moxxie she basically forgets about the mission because she likes the attention. While I do think Moxxie’s attitude towards Millie was a bit out of the blue, in character it kinda makes sense for him. He came from a father that never cared for him, wanting validation even if it was from Bliz of all people and feeling in the shadow of Striker when it came to the approval of Millie’s own parents. The one reason I feel he never exploded like this before was Millie, she was always there to give him support and confort because she was never the focus. In the episode we finally see her in the spotlight and Moxxie for the first time really is alone. Both are justified in there feelings and in the argument we can definitely tell Moxxie is projecting but yeah that’s my take on the situation. Something that Finn the Pony mentioned in his recent review of the episode was that the end would’ve been the perfect way to foreshadow the Dhorks coming back! With Millie being a human celebrity they could’ve gotten suspicious and compared her to the footage that they already had and see right through her disguise! It would’ve been a much better ending than the one we got, something just felt… missing.

I think this episode's poor execution of it's ideas really highlights why Millie and Moxxie being glued together at all times is a serious detriment to both of their characters at this point. While the episode put a lot of focus on Millie and tried to give her much needed character development, it was still mostly about Moxxie and his issues. And, once again, Millie getting to shine has to come entirely at Moxxie's expense. Like they can never lift Millie up without dragging Moxxie down. As for Blitz and Barbie, that really needed to be it's own episode. Making it a side plot in this episode was a really bad call and the moments between the Imp Siblings didn't hit nearly as hard as they should have as a result. Seriously the entire second season so far has been one episode after another not quite nail the execution and ultimately fail to live up to it's full potential.

I don’t think moxie was annoyed that people liked his wife more than him, he was annoyed that she was happy with the attention that he wasn’t able to give. The thing that rubs me the wrong way is: This episode is designed to shit on Moxxie. And in order to do so they have to sacrifice the competence of two characters. First: Millie. Millie understands Moxxie's insecurities. She knows how to get around them. What is being sacrificed here is exactly that: Her emotional awareness. On the one hand: She understands Moxxie wants to prove himself and goes along with it. But somehow she is oblivious to the fact that her hogging in all the spotlight and pandering to those who treat her husband like garbage, would affect Moxxie? Untill he blows up? And her comeback to that is ... that he doesn't support her? No. I agree with Sarcastic Chorus here: Her response should have been: "Why do YOU care about what they think?". Instead she chastises the man who worships the ground she walks on, who in his only two moments of bravery stands up to her father and his own father, where he belittles himself and praises Millie. THAT man, she acuses of being unsupportive. And yes: She is right in this instance, but she generalises, which comes across as if SHE is the one who can not handle her husband for once not worshiping her every move. And I don't think that is the intention behind her character. But it is a sideeffect of destroying the other half of M&M. Second: The other Half of M&M. Moxxie. Yes it makes sense he is jellous of Millie. But let us look at what exactly is happening here: Millie is (as allways), better than Moxxie. Every single trait which Moxxie wants to establish for himself, gets handed to Millie for free at the cost of Moxxies competence. Being good with disguises? Millie is better without trying. Moxxie fails. Detective work? Moxxie can not even start to show what he can do, because Millie solves it on accident. Music? Nope, Moxxie sucks and Millie is better. Fighting? Millie is stronger than Moxxie, better at dodging and can actually hit her opponent. Moxxie, the supposed good sniper, misses nearly every shot he makes throughout the show. Oh and Millie again kills Moxxie's target here without trying. And that brings me to the next piece of Moxxie's Character which gets highlighted here and then quickly brushed aside: Obsessive planning. Let me paint the picture: We have a character known for trying to plan every detail, who is really bad at close combat. He would obsess over any detail and bring useless stuff just in case. Ofcourse this character, who may I remind you: sucks at close combat, would ofcourse not forget to bring the most important thing: The weapon. Instead he brings a knife to a possible gunfight. Why? Just so we can watch the universe (or more accurately: The writers) shit on this character. Meg from family guy has more wins than Moxxie. Watch these final scenes again. Not Blitz, but rather Moxxie. He failed AGAIN, like every episode so far. No serriously: I went back. The man has not had a single Win in the entire show. At best he cleans up his own mess, at worst he is being used as a punchline or bait for Millie to resque. Time and time again this character gets beaten into the dirt by his boss, his family or just the universe itself. Now he has the opportunity to finally prove himself and what happens? It is being ruined again through a sheer coincidence which hands the kill to Millie for free. Moxxie. Was. Worthless. And that is when Moxxie sielently breaks down, hands in his face. He then returns to Millie, saying "YOU did it". He is back in his role as Millies praising device. Belittleing himself again while doing so. And to then drive that point home even further: The episode ends on Blitz appearently praising him, which momentarily gets him out of that state only to reveal the exact opposite. It is like crippling a puppy by driving over it, getting out of your car, handing it a treat only to kick the puppy into the next car. It is just not funny anymore. It really feels like the writer actually hate Moxxie ...

The problem with Blitz and Barbie’s issue being a B Plot is the fact that I don’t really get the sense that their huge falling out at the end had any impact whatsoever. It should be a big moment, especially with Blitz’s whole arc centering around the fact that he pushes everyone in his life away at one point or another, but the emotional beat just really doesn’t hit, especially when you have Moxxie making up with Millie right after, and then the ending scene in the office. The A Plot and B Plot of this episode would work a hell of a lot better if they were their own things. They parallel each other, sure, but not well enough to excuse shoving them together in the same episode like this and, therefore, sacrificing the emotional impact of both of them.

moxxie lashing out on millie really makes sense tho, since we usually lash out on people we feel most comfortable to (partners, friends, close family) as we don't feel the need to put up a face when we're with them. Also this episode really shows how much milie overcompensate sometime, like her being the "supportive one" specially bc she was never really that supported in her family coming from a sibling of 4, she gives that support and positivity she never got to everyone else, so just imagine how painful it would be that when she finally have her moment, her husband, the one person she expected to be there for her, to be jealous. Moxxie's behaviour also makes sense tho, as his pettyness is always played as a joke and nothing serious, so this probably just seemed like another petty normal behaviour for him, not realizing it was actually hurting millie, and when milie did communicate how she felt, he made it up to her, he compensate for her, and that's very important and I think what made them work in the first place, moxxie listening to millie and giving the words of reassurance and encourangement she needs, plus he did came from a rich family, so him being a bit of a spoiled brat checks out

It hurt to watch him lash out at Millie, but it’s also good to see they’re not perfect and that sometimes Moxxie’s insecurity makes him unreasonable and that it takes a toll on Millie. She’s always having to lift him up and she just couldn’t handle being lashed out at for doing things the way Moxxie asked her to. His need to constantly prove himself is honestly unproductive and Millie knows it but still lets him try. Also, I feel like the reason Millie is the only person Moxxie has blamed for his shortcomings is because he feels like she’s the only one he doesn’t have to impress or fear losing. I know people lash out at those they’re closest to because they have a subconscious understanding that they won’t lose that person for yelling at them. This episode is an interesting focus on M&M’s relationship and how they view themselves. @@superkubus-nk8lb Yeah, I see a few comments here from people acting like Moxxie is so ungrateful for not supporting Millie...but that wasn't a flaw until this episode. I've seen so many "Millie had so much character development this episode!" comments. What character development?! She was literally being herself the whole episode, she was just finally being recognized for being awesome! Her ACTUAL character development got shoved to the side so Moxxie could have a moment AGAIN. Loona and Millie (and maybe Octavia too) need an episode doing something f**king awesome without Moxxie, Blitzo, and Stolas shoving their BS in the way!

It wasn't that Moxxie didn’t validate her, he does that all the time, singing her love songs, telling her how much she means to him, thanking her every time she saves his life etc. The issue that set them to boil here was that she was succeeding at something other than killing She was popular for her skills outside the one her job entails, and while the humans loved her for it, her husband seemed to resent her for it. Meanwhile Moxxie wanted to prove to blitzo that he could do the job on his own, his way and impress him, and it was blowing up in his face, so he got frustrated that Millie was doing her thing while he was trying to do his... Moxxie’s pride gets in the way of him being happy for millie and Millie’s insecurity that her job as one woman killing machine is all she’s valued and good for, was being enforced by Moxxie’s attitude towards her success.

@@superkubus-nk8lb I like ow you think that their relationship must be so solid because they do stuff like that, when most people who’ve been in relationships like these, and including psychologists in this comment section have said, this is how these fights always start. Again the issue is not that Millie isn’t validated, or that they somehow don't love each other suddenly for conflict, It’s that Moxxie because of the need t impress Blitzo, was too busy with his own pride and business to realize how much millie was happy she was being recognized as something other than a killer. I mean, I still listen to songs from MLP and other old cartoons , but that was a punch in the gut. Something about watching characters repeatedly make asses of themselves makes my soul shrivel up. I know! Some people can’t see it, but I still love their fictional relationship for how healthy it is, cause when the road gets rough that’s when you see how good of a pair you both are, and Moxxie and Millie really showed how much they love each other healthily by their almost instant makeup after Millie revealed the issues. Took a real bit of emotion, but that’s when you know it is sincere.

My biggest issue with Moxxie treating Millie so horribly is that of all the people he's lashed out at before, it's never been Millie, they've never even had an argument before until this episode. In the first season they had open and honest communication and were equally emotionally supportive. Moxxie writes love songs for Millie all the time and in the one he performed at the first half of the season one finale he even says "I love us just the way we are/don't have to pretend to like to do things we don't/ I've always got you around to laugh at my stupid jokes/ I'll never take you for granted/ I'll always give you my best/ and if you can offer the same fate we'll handle the rest" right there he promised to not take her for granted and to be the best version of himself for her, and yet season 2 rolls around and we get this. Granted, in real life people can make a lot of promises in relationships and not follow through, but that's not good story structure in fiction to set something up and not deliver on it or completely botch it within a few episodes.

In isolation, Moxxie getting overly self centred/toxic and Millie getting some character development that doesn't relate to violance is perfectly fine and well within both characters. My only problem is Moxxie f**king up and Millie succeeding is constant. For Moxxie either the universe trips him up (usually for comedy) or his own personality flaws causing him to fail is pretty much his whole character. Every episode that Moxxie gets major screen time he almost always ends up as the fall guy. With Millie, though she is under developed compared with the others, the one thing she always does is succeed and be awesome. Can anyone tell me any episode where Millie f**ks and makes a mistake? Hell, even at the end of this episode the one thing Moxxie tries to do eventually (kill his target), Millie somehow ends up unknowingly getting the kill with a random firework from her concert. Like I said, even the universe hates Moxxie.

I hope that when they confront his dad again, it's his episode where he faces off against his father in a fight and proves he's competent. I would have the bodyguards try to taze him like before and he counters it kinda to show Moxxie's intelligence. I think rather than Moxxie being the strongest he'd use his knowledge of weapons and intellectual knowledge of weapons to defeat him. Also I'd like Moxxie to take his dad's hat kinda to show that his father can't control him anymore and kinda like a show of confidence. Just because he's timid at times doesn't mean he's to be underestimated, and I think his father would be the perfect character to really show Moxxie's badassness given he was afraid of him for the longest and be disrespected him more than Blitzo. I'd have Moxxie be still empathetic and timid but less just straight pathetic, like with his newfound confidence, he's more assured in himself and knows he can get the job done. Moxxie and Millie would be even but in different ways instead of it being a hierarchy if Blitzo > Millie > Moxxie (You might be able to switch Blitzo and Millie tbh.

I think this episode big issue is all the assumptions it just demands watchers to make. Blitz stalking his sister, barbs trying to get away from him, millie insecurities and moxie pettiness are all concepts that make sense for the characters but none had previously received the set up they needed for this episode to feel like a proper escalation of these conflicts. I would also argue that barbs absence from most of the episode really hurt the climax as by the time she appears, we have very little context of her relationship with blitz and that leads to much of the emotions during the fight falling flat. Since she was already at the camp, she probably should have been way more involved into the mnm plots so we can have some context on her personality and relationship with her brother before she is revealed as barbie wire to the characters.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't like Moxxie's current arc. The insecure routine is getting old and worn out. It's also getting worse - it went from Moxxie getting insulted by Blitz and Loona, to getting in a p*ssing contest with Striker, to Mille having to be the sensible one in the relationship, to being pushed around by his Dad, and now finally to this. And what's worse is that the narrative is deliberately cutting him down more and more! Even when he stands up for himself, the story pushes him right back down into the dirt and tells him to stay there. He's not even allowed to really contribute anything of value anymore. Initially, I thought they were just setting up a recurring punchline with him where he never quite gets the bad*ss moment, but now I think they're either gonna make it so he becomes secure through effort or have his endless insecurities act as a catalyst for an M&M break up. In either case, Moxxie isn't a character I enjoy anymore, but if anyone else still likes him then that's okay.

Until a week later when Blitz finds out what happened to Barbie & puts 2 & 2 together, cause remember: they didn't even know about Barbie until Blitz showed up so It's very likely they wouldn't be pulling back their punches to "some random imp" working with the target
@FaeChangeling Жыл бұрын
My biggest issue with the episode is that "intentionally annoying" isn't really a good excuse. Moxxie's self-centred bimbo persona and especially his song is supposed to be cringy and annoying and alienating for the other characters in the show, but when it's annoying and alienating the viewers as well it stops being enjoyable. It doesn't come off as funny, we're not relating to the random teens in the camp, we're just sat there hating everything Moxxie's doing the entire time. And this is only made worse by the fact Moxxie's disguise is implied to be less of a disguise and more of just him being who he wants to be, exploring some fascet of himself, but everything about it is just awful. Secondly, this entire episode feels like it's from early season 1 like around the time of the Cherubs and just got pushed back into the middle of season 2 as we go on this episodic adventure to a campground in the middle of a major plot moment, which makes this entire episode unequivocally filler despite its attempts at character development. And even the most impactful part of this episode - Blitzo trying to track down his sister - is a tiny B plot with very little development. A lot of people who only watched the show and never really followed the series more in depth probably didn't realise he even had a sister besides a one-off reference to her being in rehab many episodes ago. As much as I like how the episode sets up a mystery of who he's tracking down and what he wants to do with them, in doing so we miss the emotional punch of Blitzo choosing to track her down and reconnect with her and instead jump in to him already breaking into a building and threatening someone. Then the entire scene when he finds her is undercut as it's forced to tie in to the A plot about this random teen who Moxxie needs to kill. Instead of getting these two plots badly stitched together, we could easily have gotten an entire episode about Blitzo and his sister and it would have been far more impactful. And finally, the whole inc*st thing was also really unneccessary and as much as it's on-brand for the show, the fact the most vanilla couple in the show decided to do it in front of dozens of minors is just... Yikes. Moxxie slipping up and calling Millie sexy was fine, but then he immediately does it again a sentence later, only to then go all out on stage at the end - something that was fine as a small one-off joke got repeated and dialled up three times until any humour was gone and it was just questionable.
@jilliancrawford7577 Жыл бұрын
Especially since the persona is counterproductive to his goal and he didn't make adjustments to be more efficient about it. If he's too annoying to get people willing to interact with him, he won't get the information he wants. I can understand if he felt too committed to the character, but there was no sign that he had to be--the girls would've forgotten the bimbo character existed if he went off, changed costumes and tried again as a more neutral or nerdy character. It felt more like he was committed to the bimbo character for no reason imo. I could get if he had motivation to not switch characters/disguises, but there weren't enough witnesses or adults to care or notice.

Honestly I loved the A plot. While I would’ve rather had a separate episode where Blitz and Barbie are the A plot instead of the B plot (which I’m sure will happen eventually), seeing the biggest problem between Millie and Moxxie felt really important to me. I don’t think Moxxie has learned his lesson nor do I believe this is a one off thing and these marital issues will keep pilling up until they can’t take it anymore. I feel like us seeing Blitz trying to help her but slowly seeing him drag her right back down just like he does for everyone else is a nice bit of character development because it shows how he is a bad influence even if he’s trying to help. I do think Moxxie was a bit annoying and they could’ve dialed it back but I feel like it was just him trying to be eccentric. He’s imp’s punching bag that is constantly made fun of and looked down upon so of course his character is going to be a leader who tries to be the center of attention and is a confident and narcissistic person because he wants to feel like the best person there because he’s never the best person in imp. He just wants others to finally see him as the best. And I think the incest bit worked really well. It wrapped up the story, explained how Millie was able to just disappear from earth without making a ruckus as she would soon be kicked out of fame, and I think it was really funny. Now are they doing it in front of teens? Yes. Do hell spawn that literally have a whole ring just for sexual desires care? No.

I think I might be one of the few people who actually liked the fight scene between M&M. We've only really ever seen the best of them. Apart and together, seeing them both at their worst, pretty much just Moxxie. It was just so fascinating to see them at odds, we've seen Millie angry and we know what she can do. But we've never seen that anger directed at someone like Moxxie. The show's made it seem that Moxxie and Millie's relationship is perfect, which to be fair it is close, now we get to see them when they aren't. Millie is angry here and it's Moxxie's fault, she has every right to go off on him the way she does. I don't think that Moxxie's apology was out of character either. He's always been the one who will praise the high heavens outta Millie, as well he should, not to mention he's usually pretty quick to admit when he's wrong. Moxxie can be a petty bitch sometimes but he's not cruel. He's never vindictive at least in a non work related way. His job kinda requires him to be cruel and murderous. But even then he's the one with the moral compass, the voice of reason even if Blitz is usually shitting on him. TLDR: Moxxie and Millie's dynamic change is incredibly interesting and built up decently enough. Millie finally getting her own episode is amazing, and yes we all thought/were hoping Blitz was visiting Stolas. We all gotta admit our massive L there....

Its not about her because her family thing is actually okay. That ends pretty similar. Even an episode about her family is about Moxxie because her life is fine, no issues.

Moxxies desire for validation reaches an unhealthy level, the damage from his childhood is obviously unresolved, but good on Millie for not being his unpaid therapist and enabling his behaviours for a change. This will bring growth to their relationship, I hope…

Except everyone overlooks just how MEAN the kids were to Moxxie. They wrote "Bitch" on his tent; they told him to kill himself; they were legit horny for his wife; the popular girls made fun of his appearance in a horrible way! Not to mention he worked SUPER hard on his new persona, only for it to backfire. Moxxie wasn't angry at Millie, he was angry at the kids he tried to impress and yelled at the wrong person.
@Ally_and_Gigs Жыл бұрын
@@YujiUedaFan the issue with moxxie is he got way too carried away with his own ego when given the opportunity to take charge in the case. If he cared about the case truly, he would have listened to Millie’s observations and quickly got it done and dusted with, but instead he made their time at the camp unnecessarily longer because he wanted the satisfaction of his whole plan going to completion and getting validation from those that he actively desires from e.g blitzø and Millie. It was the persona that he put on which the kids disliked, which is unsurprising to be honest. Moxxine was a self obsessed individual who played as a mean girl and when the campers saw this, they pretty much tore the persona a new asshole. Millie’s persona Millerd however was mostly about having fun, slightly showing off too of course but in the process it made everyone else have fun too. Not condoning bullying in anyway here btw. However I’m not surprised that Moxxine ended up subject to such nastiness when the persona herself was not a likeable. Not to mention Moxxie acting like a literal child when they fail to, once again, win over the campers and in turn take it out on Millie and essentially project his insecurities onto her.

Moxxie struggles w/ insecurities (thanks to Crimson) & needs almost constant validation to feel any form of stability, which we’ve seen Millie give him (much like his mother). Add on the fact that this is his first time taking the lead on a job & his love of performing, & it created the perfect storm. I think we all know that feeling when the boss/supervisor puts you in charge of something for the first time. Moxxie wanted to succeed so badly that he got tunnel vision. Meanwhile, Millie kinda took the opportunity to have some fun, which we don’t usually see her get to do. She probably felt that she had time to kill while Moxxie was taking the long way. In the process, she got to feel important & that others might actually like her for who she is. (This was hinted at in S1 E5 during the Harvest Moon Festival. She wasn’t allowed to join in the fun b/c she was too rough. She got left out of her hometown’s festival. Even other members of her family were allowed to compete, while Millie was specifically prohibited.) During her song, we get a glimpse of how Millie views herself, & it’s clear that she’s got deep self-esteem issues of her own. Eventually, Moxxie, whose week was just getting worse by the day, snapped. Like Striker, Millie was getting the public validation that he craved & had already figured out the culprit before him. So, he lashed out at Millie. Fortunately, he realized his mistake & apologized. Still, we’ll only know if things are really okay if he learns from this & doesn’t repeat this mistake going forward. Also, I think Stolas getting hurt might’ve motivated Blitzø to check on those he cares for. We know the next episode will involve Fizz. Maybe after another hostile interaction from a past friendship will be enough to motivate Blitzø to go see Stolas.

For me, this episode was alright at best and frustrating at worst, but the thing that really pissed me off was the fact that we didn’t get at least SOMETHING for the humans from the last season, it was the perfect setting and timing to get something once Millie is on the news at the end of the episode

Ok ok. Let's be real here. It's a Moxie episode again. Millie might be the center, but what do we learn about her? She wants independence and to be valued? You mean like every person ever? Moxie learns the lesson, Moxie goes on the emotional journey, Moxie "grows as a person". What do we really get for Millie in this episode? Just more or her being cool, and skilled at everything like every other episode. And for Moxie to STILL UPSTAGE HER! I get he was talking all about her but I really don't think Moxie should've gone on stage until after the performance. The whole point was Mox wanting attention and to apologize he steals all the attention before her concert. Just watch and let her have her moment!

Millie will never get an episode, because she is (and I'm sorry to say this) a very shallow character. She is badass, she is strong, she is in love with Moxxie and that's all she is. Her personality it "cool, kind and loving" with a good mix off "she has a love interest" and not much else. Millie can't really have an episode because she is set up specifically as a love interest and not much else

She learns to stand up for herself and put herself and put herself first and to value herself. She also learned to finally communicate that with her husband which I'm guessing was never really a conversation and clearly a problem in their relationship. So there are some millie points.

Sometimes it feels like millie and the plot are completely different forces pushing against each other Every time we think we might get a morsel of character development (or just *character*) the universe bends around her like an origami in order to put moxxie or blitz or this week's villain as center stage We go to her ranch -> it's about moxxie's insecurities + stricker She goes to save him -> it's about moxxie's insecurities + blitz She literally becomes the most popular person ever and it's still all about moxxie's feelings

He didn't steal her attention, nor did he upstage her. He became the Hypeman. Hypemen are important to shows as they, as the name implies, gets the audience hyped for the main act, they are NOT the center of attention nor do they really have an act. Millie has always been there to hype up Moxxie and help validate him. This time, now that Millie's on stage, he took the opportunity to, instead of just sitting back and watching, get up and not only hype the audience up for her performances but to tell her everything he loves about her. He also clearly was going to stay for said performance until Millie gave him the tip and approval to finish the job.

As someone who was in this kind of relationship (although my partner was WAY worse than Moxxie in other ways), being with someone who is insecure 24/7 can be draining. You stick by them constantly, reassure them from the moment you wake up to the moment you sleep, support them, forgive them almost instantly for mistakes no matter how bad, and they STILL act like this. I'm not saying Moxxie is that horrible, but it feels damn good to watch Millie stand up for herself, as when I was in that situation I couldn't. I actually like that they want to make the M&M's relationship a little more complicated. Like of course they're not just perfect and in love all the time. Love is hard, it takes effort. Moxxie's lashing out is hard to watch for sure, but it shows he has issues that impact their relationship. I think as long as going forward, he takes this lesson and actually follows through with supporting Millie more, it's worth it. He's not just going to let go of all his insecurities of course, but it's a step in the right direction. I'm excited to get a fully Millie centric episode though.

My main issue with this episode is honestly that it just seems... misplaced. Like Moxxies storylines just seemed to scale gratually. From standing up to his dad to taking on Striker who has everything that Moxxie is insecure about. Now seeing him caring so much about what some teenagers think of him feels kinda anticlimactic. Also he literally was in charge of a mission in western energy. I guess it wasnt an official mission, but im sure that Striker is a bigger deal than whatever this was. This episode could legit just switch places with cherubs and it would be much much better

Honestly, this was the big painful thing to watch for me, because ALL this time, Millie and Moxxie have been probably the most wholesome thing in both series, and while a couples squabble is sure to come, this in particular wasn’t how I wanted to see M&M’s first squabble. I do like that Moxxie did apologize and they went back to being in each others corner again, but Moxxie never struck me as someone who WANTED the limelight other then wanting to be just be told “you did good” by people he cares about. He’s a humble guy who just wants reassurance, not attention.

This whole plot played like a parody of the "Millie Problem" criticism by the fans and poked fun at the constant attention on Moxxie with Millie his supporting character, begging for just some focus (attention and expansion) on her, and even resolved it by having that criticism become a conflict for them directly. Like... a faint hairline fracture in the fourth wall!
