Moyen vs Standard Poodle

I just wanted to show people what a Moyen poodle puppy looked like. Normally you see alot of videos about doodles but I just wanna get the word out there that pure breed poodles in all sizes Standard, Moyen, Mini, and Toy are still really cool dogs. They are super intelligent and extremely athletic!

We just had my sweet 14 year old standard put to sleep a week and a half ago. We miss her dearly. She was about 65lbs in her prime . We miss her dearly

So sorry for your loss. I had to put my seventeen year old Chihuahua mix to sleep. It was about three years ago but I still miss her sometimes.

I've only ever known one dog named "Marilyn" in my entire life, and that was a silver miniature poodle back in the 60's. From everything i've read, a Moyen poodle sounds like the perfect dog for me. I'm just afraid that i couldn't keep up with the grooming. 💕💔

Love a pure poodle!!! Eloise and Madeline-live the names!!!! Poodles are such great dogs. Hard to find now since it appears that everyone in my neighborhood is required by law to have some type of doodle.

Poodles are Awesome! The poodle mix brings a whole new level to designer dogs. It all comes down to personal choice in what someone wants in a dog.

I have a 4 month-old moyen poodle who is very sweet and cuddly. But he’s also very very very feisty and grabs everything and hoards them in his corner. I tell my husband our poodle thinks he’s a cat because he climbs anywhere-even steep and tiny spaces!! He doesn’t just run-he gallops and bounces. I love love love him very much though. ♥️♥️♥️

Thanks is your Moyen full grown by now and what is her energy level now? And size comparison? I have had Standards many years and love them but as I get older think smaller dog might be easier for me to lift etc but I want the Standard brains and temperament!

would Moyens be great hearing service dogs?? Looking for a poodle to be my hearing dog when needed because i’m hard of hearing (with hearing aids) & deaf (without hearing aids night/early mornings) and take prescribed medications to help with my anxiety but I will need the dog to nudge or paw at me when someone’s around me that i can’t hear or when there’s a noise i’m not responding to like someone calling my name.. is it possible with a Moyen?? i can’t take him to work w me because i work in a hospital part time (5.5hr shifts M-F) and would only need the SD when i’m going out in public. Is this possible??

Hey just wondering what is the size difference between the standard and moyen? When they’re fully grown? Are they decently close in size?

Fully grown Madeleine the Moyen turned out to only be 18 lbs which leads me to believe she’s more toward the size of a mini poodle. Eloise the standard is around 50lbs she’s a smaller standard but still considered a standard. I think male standard poodles tend to be in the 60lb range and taller as well, I’ve met a few at the dog park and they tend to be taller than the females

The poodle is not ridiculous by any means, but the funky clip the show people push make them look ridiculous. It is one of many reasons the show people do not get much respect--nor should they, IMO. The Moyan does not have the absurd clip, good to see that. Poodles look great-balanced, fit, intelligent---when that loser clipping is held back.

That “funky” clip is used as Poodles were originally German water dogs. That cut was used to keep the joints warm while they swam 🙄 Also why exactly shouldn’t show people get respect? Their one of the reasons purebred dogs are still around.
