@poodlemom I enjoy all your content, for some reason their aren't a lot of content on poodles. It's hard to find vlogs about them. I'm happy that you posted a new video.😁 Your toys are lovely. 😍

I have a large toy/small mini poodle. He is my little shadow. He is very smart and knows how to get attention. I swear he understands everything I say and he even mimics my sounds when im responding to his sounds lol The latest thing he does is lead me on walks. If we are close to an area he recognizes as kind of a crossroads then he will lead me down to cross one street and then over two more blocks so that we will inevitably end up going past this one house that he knows has two dogs so he can see if they’re behind the open window in the fence and bark at them. Now that’s dedication and a good memory because there’s no way he’s going based off of their scent…it’s not that close. He also remembers the places where he’s seen bunnies or squirrels and wants to stop and look to we if they’re still there. Poodles are agile, goofy, frustrating, adorable, good natured and loyal…and troublemakers. I do keep my dog’s hair somewhat short but it’s still soft and fluffy. I just have to brush and comb him a couple of times a week so that’s not a problem. I get him groomed every 4 weeks which also helps. There really aren’t any “good” kibble options. Whenever possible go with fresh foods or at least freeze dried/rehydrated options. There are plenty of kibble alternatives and when you know what is in them and how they’re made then you will likely opt for one of the alternative options. They also don’t have enough moisture content so dogs on kibble are often mildly dehydrated. If you can’t do the long walks then mental exercise and shorter walks or additional playtime should suffice. My one key takeaway for small dogs like poodles is to keep their teeth and gums as healthy as possible. Teeth brushing and regular cleanings are paramount to their oral health but also their overall health and longevity. I realized this in plenty of time for my poodle but not for my Yorkies. Not maintaining a brushing schedule can lead to problems related to the heart, kidneys, liver, etc as they get older. My Yorkies have MVD now so I’m even more acutely aware of keeping their teeth clean, giving filtered water, fresh food, supplements, etc as well as their meds. Many people are not aware of the importance of oral health for their dogs. they don’t know that they have to maintain their dogs’ teeth and gums like they do their own. My poodles teeth are in pretty good shape as per his last cleaning so I’m determined to keep them that way.

I LOVE this video!! Thank You!! I have owned a poodle or 2 over the years and now retired I'm built my poodle pack and have lots of time to oooh and aaahhh at everyone elses poodles! Great video! My oldest (2yr) Mini is training his younger (1yr) brother- so much fun. Selective hearing always with my young standards ages 2 and 1 - and their stubbornness- as they train me LOL! But the 2 yr old is a dream now! So gentle/loving! I could watch poodles all day! :o)

Thank you so much Elizabeth!! Omg!! The dream to own a Standard! I have a new goal now, I want to grow this channel enough so I can use the revenue to save money for a small land for my poodles 😂😂😂 I was laughing sooo hard with your stories of them training you!! I can sooo relate to this! They wait until I raise my voice before obeying 😂😂😂

@@poodlemom Yes!! My 1 yr old Mini waits until I say "bad boy" because I've said "come" 6x and he's ignoring me and then he hears that and runs to me!! Silly poodle! I love talking to them when they listen! They are so loving. My poodles do very well in our small space-18' x 24' room inside and their gravel potty kennel is 18' x 5'. So we don't have a lot of land :o)The Standards go thru a phase of wiggles from around 8-10 months up until around 2 yrs. They remind me of jumping reindeer! But honestly they lay around way more than the minis do. If my Standards had a yard to run in I'm afraid they'd jump the fence. Our breeder won't sell to anyone without a fenced in yard!! My minis trail behind me poking my calves all day :o) 💖

My daughter brought a cockapoo home some years ago who (fortunately) inherited poodle smarts. He learned how to sneak downstairs without jingling the double tags on his collar so he could shop in the kitchen garbage. The only reason he got caught was because I heard the rattle of paper.

Hi! Can you share your breeder? I’m planning on getting one and I would be a first time dog owner. Would love to know which are the reputable toy poodle breeders in Manila.
@poodlemom2 ай бұрын
Hello! Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, recommending breeders is something I am really not comfortable with most especially publicly for personal reasons. There is no perfect breeder, what’s good for me might not be for some people so I hate attaching my name to them due to past experiences. I hope you understand :(

I have a toy poodle who hair is thining. I find chunks of hair daily. I took her to the vet. They said nothing was wrong. Is this normal?
@poodlemom5 ай бұрын
How young? If seniors- it can happen. If not, better to check with your vet first for any underlying condition. If there isn’t anything, maybe switch shampoos.
@tonesejordan49865 ай бұрын
She’s six months. I took her to the vet and they said nothing was wrong with her. They thought she had a little ear infection, but that was it. She doesn’t have any ball spots, but her hair is extremely thin.
