Yes. From a longevity and ecological standpoint, a pairing standard is absolutely necessary. At least they have to give an API. Any electronic device, that loses its function, because some update breaks the app, or it disappears from the store etc should not be supported by consumers. Imagine a bluetooth headphone or speaker would only work, as long as the company keep updating an specific app for your model. Fortunately unthinkable.

I really love the progression from dropping the charger to dropping the phone. I'm on the fence about buying this cube vs waiting to see what the Gan 12 UI has to offer. I really like the corner core magnets on my Gan 11 m Pro. If I had stuck with the rs3m 2020 as my main, I'd buy this in a minute. I still can't even get the gan app to open when I'm on LTE/not on wifi, so it's totally useless as a mobile app. Been considering getting the Rubik's smart cube, but maybe this one will work better even though it is a little more simplistic. Either way, being able to adjust the tension is definitely a plus.

Oh also noticed the alg editor doesn't seem to allow you to input how you wish eg, trying to input OLL 28 as r U R' U' r' R U R U' R' seems impossible. It gives alternative letter but not necessarily the right one needed. It should allow access to keyboard to input how you wish.

I have did an unboxing of it. It's not bad for the price and has a good app but the cube catches a bit sometimes which can mess up the solve, times... The Moyu AI performs much better though it's more expensive so go with what you can afford.

I have had a similar experience with the Moyu AI. I'm getting the same error message trying to playback the solve, hoping the app gets an update soon. It's also become my main over the other smart cubes and I was also able to add extra magnets which suits me better. Good review, overview 👍.
