As a happy owner of a stronger Moza base, that came after T300, this package is so, so good. As you said at the beginning, it was a fiction to dream about DD wheel in that price range. It basically destroyed the belt competition from Thrustmaster. I see no reason to go for their bases now DD truly is a gamechanger, you can’t imagine how big

My best mate has upgraded from a Thrustmaster TMX to this. He plays f124 and ACC on xbox. He is like a small child on Christmas morning with this thing. Says its a massive jump in detail and ffb compared to the TMX.

I just bought an R5. 5nm is plenty for me. Fortunately I still have my ancient Fanatec load cell equipped pedals, so the ones supplied are in the garage gathering dust. It's a shame you can't just buy the wheel/base without the pedals.

Right? As if professionals drive with 20nm, LOL. That'd be fucking stupid. Also, why buy a high power wheel when you then limit the power ingame, as ALL OF THEM do? There are literal videos about fucking with bodybuilders using full power bases. The fidelity can't possibly be the reason, that should be identical between DD base strengths. Only reason I can think of is that it's one of the easily marketed, numerical values where morons can go "HIGHER BETTER". Like kids when they got their first bikes. "I got 12 gears!" "Well *I* got 18. So suck it with your shit bike"

I personally don't need more than 4-6Nm either as that's totally enough for me, but one of the reasons that people want more is to simulate the steering forces like a real race car (e.g. GT3) which produce about 10-12Nm depending on the car

Yes. I read that Moza now sells this wheel rim as standalone, so you can pair it with the R5, R9, and R12 and be able to use it on Xbox. Just make sure that you buy the Xbox compatible ES Wheel.

Yes, R5 will work. As long as you have the Moza Xbox Wheel ESX and Moza peddles, then you MUST plug them into the back of the R3, R5, R12 and the newer versions of R16 and R21. R9 does not have a peddle plug. Therefore R9 will not work for Xbox.

Saw RC's video pop up midway through editing my own, I sat there and thought 'great minds think alike' It seems that Moza's XBOX compatibility is all within the steering wheel but they don't make it very clear on the site. I'm sure someone with a more Xbox-considerate video can clear it up!

@@spoodmanire I don't know of any mods from first hand experience, I just recommend tweaking the brake curve in Pit House to suit your style - as I did!

It's possible to use the Logitech spring on the brakes by using a combination of the threaded tube Logitech uses then u can put it on the brake pedal like the brake mod does, definitely makes it satisfactory for a couple of months until u get loadcell

I can't imagine a scenario where I'd pay 440 € for a ~4 nm wheelbase and sub-par pedals. I mean it's currently not an option, but Fanatec's CSL DD offering seems a lot more interesting since it allows for the 8nm upgrade and has better (and also upgradeable) pedals. In a world where Fanatec and Simagic exist I really wonder who Moza is targeting. Maybe that's the point? Fanatec doesn't exist?!

The pedals are better than Fanatec's standard CSL pedals, mostly due to that Pit House customisation which for some reason eludes Fanatec even to this day. Fanatec has some great plus points and you're right about a clearer/easier upgrade path, but if you put me in a race against myself where one version of me has the R3, and the other has a 5nm CSL DD bundle, the R3 would win by a healthy margin

I'm not sure what the problem is with this review. He points out many times that this wheel is a short term prospect due to its lack of power, and that the pedals aren't great.
