This is definitely in my top 10 Mozart pieces. Only he could write such a wonderful concerto for this strange combination of instruments and make it sound like it is the purest and most natural thing ever. And those melodies...the beginning of the second movement is incredibly moving.

He wasn’t even a big fan of the flute, or the harp for that matter, and he had to write for the skill level of the patron he wrote this for. That he could juggle all that and still produce such a sublime masterpiece is astonishing.

Lots of great textures in this specific concerto. You rarely hear so much pizzicato in other Mozart concerti. And the primary theme of the first movement with the octaves is really cool.
