You would think that W.A. Mozart had written his composition especially for these gentlemen. Perfectly coordinated and flawlessly performed. The composer would be proud to hear his work today.

Wonderful playing. A brilliant rendition (and, so far, no clown has hit the 'dislike' option! It will come, of course. There always has to be one idiot to start the ball rolling.) >>> Sound engineers and conductors please note: THIS is how you balance the organ with other instruments, i.e. so that the audience can *hear* it. (p.s. I wonder why some of the stop-heads have become loose and not been re-fixed?)

The Flentrop organ from Germany, looks like a challenge to play with all the Chinese letters on the stops. The pedals look a little strange too. Should have videoed the live concert too. Its always more exciting before a live audience. Nice to see Steinway made it all the way to Taiwan . Thanks for this marvelous video.
@aartvenema12196 жыл бұрын
The Flentrop Organ is a Dutch organ, build in 1987. In 2015 the organ is completely cleaned and maintenance/repair works have been carried out. Just for your information, not meaning to be a wiseguy..

Years ago - roughly up until 1900, people regularly attened week-end performances of this type of music in the local city halls, music halls and some churches. Of course back then, people appreciated good music rather than the..... whatever that seems to predominate almost everything today. Such a pity kids today miss this amazing music.

Was that organ newly built in 1987, or rescued from elsewhere? The stops look *very* old.
@Organgrinder10104 жыл бұрын
Musicianship is flawless! Would prefer a split-screen rather than constant leaping back and forth from camera to camera, especially when tied to brief phrases. It becomes annoying and detracts from the music.
@cactus000014 жыл бұрын
Must cost a small fortune to keep the organ in tune with the piano (or vice-versa) across the changes of season. (?!) - Great job!
@samsylvester21404 жыл бұрын
Well, concert grands usually get tuned before each concert anyway... and I guess it is much easier to keep the piano in tune with the organ... you don't want to retune 7000 or more pipes everyday ;)

Playing was brilliant. Organ left something to be desired. It buried the piano quite frequently and not because the brother playing it was not talented with registration and the stops. Obviously, knew them well. Just not a good installation for that organ.

@cobusheunis30824 жыл бұрын
Tom, it is Mozart....not Rachmmaninoff!! Virtuoso piece, yet legato. The organ must be overwhelming to the piano. To close off, keep it up and do Mozart more often. Perhaps Chopin Grande pieces like the Gallop with Orchestra.
@samrodian9194 жыл бұрын
Cobus Heunis I think Tom knows more about it than you do! Can YOU play to that standard?? I am willing to bet that you can't.
