I'm always intrigued when Jonathan performs a piece of music on the organ usually associated with another instrument. OK, pianos and organs have the same keyboard layout, but they produce a completely different sound. Jonathan has not disappointed me yet.

Theatre/pipe organs were designed to replicate a whole orchestra. They are much more complex instrument than a pianoforte.

This is beautifull for a piece that was never written for.the organ. It just shows how versatile a good organ with a good player really is.
@nizaru100 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree, What I rather did not like, is using hand and feet for this piece, because it can give impression that an originally piano piece that uses only one keyboard and 2 hands, NEEDS at the organ all its resources (many keyboards and using hands & feet + stops changes) ; thus piano purists shall say " look, we do not need all these resources and such an expensive huge & complex instrument to play masterpieces like this so, let us with our simple 1 keyboard piano, we never get tired of it !!" § Because I DO DEFEND THE PIPE ORGAN & I 's a pipe organ purist fan ( I'm 39 engineer) (As an Pure Musical Instrument, (not liturgical cause I am not Christian, , I'm MUSLIM of Morocco)) & I hate piano (and violin even more)), but the fact that piano has been for 200 years the example of keyboard instruments makes me uncomfortable , because the first ever keyboard was actually for the pipe organ !!!! I mean, for a not very difficult piano piece, it should be done on organ using only one keyboard or minimal resources, so that the organ will have always other resources for really symphonic and difficult pieces. for information , organ pieces of french classical era by Clerambault use only hands in the same kayboards with just stops to changes (Suite 2nd tone, etc...).

To Jonathan I hope that Jonathan will read and agree with this article ^^ I am writing this post using a short amount of time thinking that I should leave a comment before today is over. It was early morning in Korea when this video was uploaded. As soon as I opened my eyes, I listened to this song and was so happy and surprised. I am a worship accompanist at the Presbyterian Church and a beginner in the organ. I was practicing carefully because my teacher emphasized playing with the 3rd and 4th fingers. It reminded me of my favorite Mozart, his song Turkey March, and I played this song about a week ago. With a beat similar to Jonathan. Of course, it lacks a lot, but while listening to Jonathan's arrangements, I was influenced and played with that feeling. I want to listen carefully to the pedal point and play it accordingly. Do you have sheet music? I want to challenge. I would have been even more ecstatic if I had heard it in a concert hall, but I am happy just listening to it on my car audio while driving. thanks! From fan woori in Korea.

This went well! It is rowdy music, and without being corse, this manages to be riotously fun to listen to. I imagine that is hardly easy to play this on a large pipe organ and keep it swinging! Bravo! Best wishes from George

The beauty that an organ reveals is truly remarkable, and the flexibility it offers to the player allows them to vary their approach depending on the piece, making it seem more diverse than it already is. It’s fascinating to hear how a piece not originally written for a specific instrument can sound when performed on others. The organ, in particular, seems like an incredibly complex instrument-essentially, you have to play the piano with your feet as well. I personally struggled to keep up with the piano; it was highly competitive for me, as I found it difficult to track what each finger was doing while simultaneously reading multiple notes at once. This highlights an important lesson: we shouldn’t limit pieces to being played only on certain instruments. Why not perform a Mozart violin concerto on a trumpet or a trombone piece on a viola? It makes music even more captivating and offers a unique perspective on how each instrument differs in sound, especially when comparing performances of pieces that were originally meant for other instruments.

The organ has two consoles, a fully manual tracker console under the pipes and this remote electronic console - it’s very common in concert organs
