I use firefox now after converting to chrome a few years back. To be fair at the time I changed to chrome, firefox was behind in terms of speed and functionnality but now, oh boy, it has changed to a totally new modern browser. Everything is snappier in firefox. It has gained back its place as the king of internet browsers.

I'm in the same position. Switched from Firefox to Chrome not long after Chrome came out simply because Firefox at the time was so slow and bloated. Now I'm back to Firefox.

I am currently pondering the idea of switching back. I used Firefox as my daily browser until around 2009, I switched to chrome after testing out other browsers for several weeks in late 2009, and that's been my daily browser ever since. Recently I have been finding chrome more problematic and buggy, and given my system specs now, ram usage is not nearly a concern like it was over a decade ago. I think firefox may be the future for me, but I am testing out other browsers, before making any switch just like i did in 2009.

Google just throttled KZbin speed on Firefox. There are reports now on the internet of Firefox taking up to 10 seconds to load KZbin

You can't really know how much memory app is really using. Task manager shows how much virtual memory they’ve asked from the OS, but this doesn’t mean the app is really using it.

The Google Chrome browser on my laptop did some updates and now the pages are taking a long long long long time to load, the circle thingie on the tab’s header keeping going counter-clockwise & then clockwise. Many times I have to press F5 and then the page gets loaded. I even did a reset of browser, not sure what’s going on. Will try Firefox.

Ihv seen so far in my system firefox uses less cpu % and chrome was using around 323 ram when idle and forefox using 245 and its way faster just 1 annoying thing its full screen animation is bad

Browser benchmarks really do not matter. What matters for the user is the actual load times for the websites they use.
