@@henninglorenzen6420You could say that about literally any gun. That's the same as saying that AKs don't deserve to live, or the M1911. There's a very large chance that every type of gun possible has claimed a life, be it through war or someone being a dumbass and being unsafe with their firearms. While the MP40 was used specifically during WWII, and sure it probably took lives, but that doesn't eliminate the fact that to some people (myself included) it's a neat piece of history.

@michaeldhoore1178 Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure at all but... It looks like this one was dug up from underground, so it was probably buried for several decades in moist ground... maybe it was laying underwater but there would probably be even more corrosion, and not that orange looking dirt colour ( I think). Weapons like these, and even more dangerous unexploded 'Obusen', are still being found/dug up to this day by farmers f.e. in Belgium.

Could be found in some rivers sometimes, my grandpa was a boat driver cleaning the bottom of rivers when he was younger, he found several guns, and some were from WWII. He restored and shot with some of those. Unfortunatly, he had no permit to have a weapon so they were taken by the police 😓

@michaeldhoore1178 these videos are fake. If you want good historical weapon restoration videos check out backyard ballistics. Every video he makes the weapons he restores unique in how badly and the type of damage it has sustained and he narrates over it so you can understand he is doing. Usually if he can successfully restore the weapon he will fire it at the end of the video if deemed safe enough.

Some of the comments in here are trollish and humorous. Reality: these rusted pieces of JUNK have no value. Fact is, there's thousands of excellent condition MP40s in the hands of private collectors. And there's even more available for purchase that are in good to fair condition. If any of those weapons have flaws, they are professionally repaired and restored to period condition by craftsmen gunsmiths. (Those guys are not typically on KZbin because they are professionals not entertainers.) Bottom line: this video is for your ENTERTAINMENT. It is not to show you how to professionally restore a WW II MP40 to 1940s condition. In my book what this video is: our host using "smoke, mirrors, and parlor tricks" to make a rusted piece of junk look pretty, nothing more, nothing less. At the end of the day there's a win/win. Our host realizes some income for his hard work; and KZbinrs have been entertained watching something looking grotesque being transformed into something pretty (as long as the lighting is correct, we don't get too close, OR ASK TOO MANY QUESTIONS!) Ask yourself, were you entertained? (I was.) Did you find the video relaxing (I did, that's a guy thing, getting voyeuristic pleasure from watching these kind of faux restoration videos). Do you like to browse hardware stores for an hour or two (I most definitely do)? Are you going to watch more of these? (I am.) If you answered "yes" to any of the above that makes it all worth it, don't you think. So let's all calm down, pop some corn, and enjoy the shows. Bonus Comment: Think of these rusted PsOS like ancient Roman coins dated 1800 years or older. A valuable coin is totally worthless if it is rusted, pitted, dented, chipped, and/or simply well-worn. Despite the coins decrepit condition, on fleabay there's sellers of "ancient Roman coins," guaranteed to be 2000 years old, priced from $5 to $30. You can even get a "big bag of ancient as-found Roman coins" for $20 to $50. Those coins are not restored. They have gone from the dirt to the collector (who pulls the valuable coins), and then sold on fleabay at junk prices. In contrast, check on fleabay for those same ancient Roman coins, in excellent condition, where the seller wants $10,000 for it.

Пескоструй и сварка Tig - только так и никак не иначе. А этот "реставратор" просто испортил отличную эмпешечку. Лучше бы мне отдал...

Wow! Turning a WW2 relic into the low-quality chinese copy! Just buy the Denix replica, stop ruining the history objects.

Agreed. It was not restored. Body filler? Nobody in theor right mind would fire a weapon with a welded barrel. And use wrenches, not pliers. Get rid of as much rust as possible before any disassembly.

This gun will probably be just a wall hanger but the Bolt having Rush holes tell me if you don’t put a new one in it just hang it on the wall because Finding a new one is going to be Damn neo impossible because of the way ww2 guns were made and the way people look at the mp-40 as a bad guy gun they are a beautiful gun and it a damn same that people see their as the bad guy guns

It would be better to work with ultrasound at the beginning, which would break up some of the rust in the threads.

I’ve watched three of these videos now. First one started as an STG44 but had turned into an AK47 by the end, second started as a Thompson and ended up a PPSH, now an MP40 has changed into a completely different weapon too. What exactly is the point of these videos?🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
