This was my first car, a red 1967 GTO with 400 HO & Muncie 4-speed. Looks great, I wish I had the skills to build it, I have such great memories of that car, would love to have this model, you did an outstanding job, very accurate.

I used to ride around in one of those. My older brother's friend had a white one, with a red interior. That car screamed! Oh, the memories. I may have to make one like his was. I always love your enthusiasm! Thank you for all you do for the hobby! --Cindi (Granny Glue-Sniffer).

The white pinstripe pops off the red, it was the first thing that caught my eye in the final reveal. This build reminds me of my next door neighbor growing up. He was a serious motorhead and he tricked out his dad's car, engine wise. He'd take it out on weekends and smoke other cars in street drags. He had many an offer to buy the car, but it was his dad's car. The kind of car you pass on the highway and then he decides to pass you and leave you behind in the dust because you underestimated what he had under the hood.

Hello Chris, This is the second video of yours I have watched. I enjoy your no nonsense banter, and explanations as you progress. A model builder for over five decades, and retired machinist, I appreciate the finer details you offer. I just purchased the '64 4-4-2 hardtop as shown in your other video, and having the MPC '67 GTO, I think I will attempt to start them soon with winter here. Just a few pointers l do is to paint the distributor body cast aluminum as well as the cast part of the starter. I have not looked into my kit in a while, but see your kit has the manual transmission, yet no clutch pedal under the dash. Having owned three real GTO's years ago, I built models of my burgundy red '64, convertible, my Lime Green vinyl topped '69 GTO, but not my Tyrol Blue '67. Thank you Again for the pointers and encouragement.

I remember this kit being a train wreck. The chassis didn't fit the body, causing the bumpers to pop off if it was moved. The wheels were not centered in the fenders. the engine parts didn't line up correctly and most locating pins had to be removed to fit together.

Another brilliant build. Like others, I've learned a TON from watching these. Right now, I'm building that '77 Ford Pinto you did not long ago. I finished the '86 Monte Carlo, and I still have the Starsky and Hutch '76 Torino, the '70 Pontiac Firebird, the '70 Plymouth AAR 'Cuda and the B-25 Mitchell to do (thanks a lot, bud ;-). And now... gonna have to do this one, as well. BTW: my boss/owner at the full-service gas station in Detroit where I worked as a pump jockey during my high school years in '76/'77 had a full-on '67 GTO with the 400 cid with the four-barrel High Output and a bunch of other goodies. Man, was that one beautiful muscle car. I rank it up there with the '70 Chevelle SS in terms of the greatest Detroit muscle cars of all time.

Looks good, building the Revell 1966 Pontiac GTO right now. The Revell kit has far better detailing, but the window glass's are all seperate which is a pain in the ass. And like you said that MPC kit is an old re-release. I did mine in a light metallic aquamarine green with a black vinyl roof, and stock wheels etc. Excellent channel, I have taken a few ideas and techniques from it.

Is that a 8 track tape molded into the dash radio? Back in the early 70's I bought a 65 Goat, 389, tri-power, 4 speed and posi. GTO stood for "GAS, TICKETS & O MY GOD HANG ON" I got some stellar moving violations in that car including the fastest speeding ticket I ever got from the California Highway Patrol, 135 MPH and the GOAT was still picking up speed. Needless to say the cop wasn't very happy with me. After numerous speeding, exhibition of speed (burnouts) and street racing on cruise night downtown tickets, I found out I was no longer insurable without paying an enormous amount of money. Sadly I sold the GTO and I literally bought a VW bug because I could afford the insurance. I learned a big lesson and it took years for all those tickets to drop off my license. Not to long after I bought the V Dub the engine came out and I turned it into a pretty cool street cruiser that was fast & cool. Now when I do burnouts I look in the rear view mirror first! LOL And you built a beautiful kit as always. I went to the hobby shop yesterday and bought some Testors spray paint and the back of the label says RUST-OLEUM Corp.

Have you ever used Vallejo Acrylic Model Color or Model Air paints? They brush very easy with excellent flow out. They dry flat but can be covered with Vallejo clear varnish for a gloss or semi-gloss finish. They are great for painting small details.
@hpiguy5 жыл бұрын
Yea I've used both. No issues, they end to dry out on the airbrush tip easily, and others have said the same but I have no problem using them if I need the color.
@The901meister5 жыл бұрын
@@hpiguy I don't have tip dry issues when using their flow enhancer, but I use a #5/0 to #1 Winsor Newton Series 7 brush for small details. Their metallics are excellent for metal details. I have used them for about 20 years. I paint all my rusty "beaters" with them and leave them "flat' to show worn paint. They work well with hair spray chipping.
