I still have the 60 and its gritty and warm sound add a texture to any sample especially drums , it's very inspiring to use this it's so limited that it forces you to put focus on your drums that's why it was very successful in any genre of music the drums and bass are foundation but this machine really solidified the track nicely something about sampling vinyl with this machine it almost kept that sonic stamp it preserved the sound and even made it better with its 16 bit but yea it's very inspiring to work on this because your using your ears instead of your eyes that's why we now have endless possibilities, power, sample time , software but it's all based on vision not hearing
@DyReckProductions3 жыл бұрын
Your right about that.Alot of newer producers cant get with the mpc 60 because theres no auto chop. Little things like that kept some folks away from the machine..Not knowing if they learn to chop by ear it will make them a beast in manipulating samples and just understanding production period.

I love this channel, great videos on some iconic gear. Did you ever use the Roland VS1680 or VS1880? They were famously used by Kanye West and MF Doom. I got my first VS 1680 in 2002, but ditched it for a Mac/ Logic a year later. As this box sat gathering dust, I could never bring myself to sell it. I'm glad i kept it. I went DAWLess in 2011 and brought it out of retirement. I added an VS 1880 to my collection and use it with my MPC 2500, Roland SP-404a and SP-808 to make music in my studio. It's funny that considering how popular the Roland VS series was from the mid 90's and early 00's, there's not even a Wikipedia entry for them?!?! Anyway keep up the good work I love the entertaining way you cover the history of classic boxes.
