Wish the mpc studio that came out was an updated version of the original mpc studio black. Like literally keep it the same and make the screen bigger and touch screen and make it standalone like the one. That would have been 🔥🔥🔥🔥

The X wear its Renaissance origins on the proverbial sleeve and the Live came from the Touch. What I'm kinda hoping for is a standalone version of the Studio 2 that has an internal battery, the I/O of the One, with a companion app that does the touchscreen functions. So you could hook your smartphone in with no issue and travel very light. It'd be the successor to the MPC 500 that a lot of us have been hoping for.

I have a Live 2 but I STILL love my Studio Black too. My last MPC before I bought the Studio Black was the 2000 and I sold it in like 2006 ish and got into Logic Pro but I still missed having an MPC but didn’t miss having to route all the audio outputs into Digital Performer. I bought the Studio Black a few years ago and loved it. It was like my 2000 on steroids. I bought a Live 2 last year and love it but the Studio Black still gets love.

@@ghost_in_the_robot they’re two different animals tbh. The Studio Black is not stand alone, it’s a controller for the desktop software and it has the old school MPC lcd screen, so if someone’s looking for the old original type of experience then the Studio Black is that. The MPC One is stand alone as well as capable of being used as a controller for the desktop software bit as a stand alone it has audio inputs and outputs. I’d say get the MPC One, I think it will be supported longer and it’s the latest MPC ‘experiences “ and workflow. I still love the old school screen and flow of the Studio Black I like my MPC Live 2 more, imo it’s the most stand alone MPC because of the battery and built in speakers.

Sold my 2000xl years ago as I started shifting into computer production and digital engineering. Grabbed the mpc studio a few years ago. I like messing with it but it's a HUGE learning curve to a newbie. Kits straight from Akai that won't load. The midi keeps disconnecting from my mp49 mid recording. I've never been a quiter so I keep trying. I feel the worse part is tho....how little people seem familiar with this. In the world I can't find anyone familiar with it, so no shared information for use. Online....it's just review and history videos. I swear when I figure this thing out...I'm gonna flood the web with tutorial videos because I'm sure I'm not the only person wearing these shoes lol. Good video though. This Controller Is Amazing! It Really Brings The MPC 2000 Workflow To A DAW! I Think They Intentionally Dumbed It Down With The MPC Stusio 2 Because They Still Need To Sell Those Stand Alone Boxes. The Way This Controller Interfaces With The DAW Software Is Flawless!

This was about $500 Aussie dollars before the MK2 version came out. Now it's about $380 and the MK2 is $349. I've bought the MK1 already but am wondering if the MK1 is actually better, it's got a bigger screen, knobs! It might just be looks, but the facelifted/black one is much more attractive, although I guess those flat buttons are practical if you wanna chuck it in a backpack.

Yes Mk1 is far better. I got the silver at the time as I was travelling a lot, and always had my laptop, so the thin profile really appealed to me. But when the black came out I loved the look, but I kept the wallet closed - was hard though haha.

I just grabbed a studio black and an mpk mini for $115. I really like my mpc 1000 and i want to get really good on my mpc one, the way this controller is laid is very similar to the 1000 and it uses the software of the MPC One. Do you see my logic behind this or am I just crazy and have some major GAS? This can also be hooked to an ipad? Definitely getting an ipad this year with all the new apps coming out

Went to buy one in dec 2019 , to be told they was not making them anymore , then they said to my the Mpc one is being released, and they sent me that on day one of release , the mpc one is king 👑but I think I would of enjoyed this product , the main reason was to control my akai s3000 xl with the mpc studio

That's why (even though I would LOVE to get the MPC Studio Black), I personally would have to pass on it due to the fact that, apparently, because it's also discontinued, the new software on the new MacBooks will NOT support the MPC Studio Black. I honestly thought Akai was going to revive the MPC Studio Black with a mix of the MPC 1000, so it would be a genuine, portable hardware you can plug and play, but all we can do is hope...

@@ghost_in_the_robot Akai's been supporting all of their MPC products with software and firmware updates (thank goodness). They just rolled out the MPC 2.10 firm/software and it's great!!

@@ghost_in_the_robot I haven't looked to see if there's any used ones on the market. The list price is $699-$799 which is good for a drum machine/sampler with it's power AND the MPC Software comes with it along with a hefty amount of sounds and expansion packs. Definitely worth the money.

I just got a used Like new one off EBay yesterday in the original box for $160 with everything included & it still had the plastic on the screen so I’m happier then a hooker 💃🏽making tips Because the MPC Studio MK2 that Akai released last year on Sept 21 is so TRASH!!!🗑️ that you see a lot of users taking them back to look for this one that was released in 2016 plus Akai made a major mistake by putting on a small led screen👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿
