This is the first MPC video that shows an interesting and practical workflow for sampling that seems useful to me outside of just like... remixing or chopping up other songs. Sampling as part of jamming and production where you're using it to add flexibility and stuff. Makes me want to dig my MPC back out of the closet

I’m working on something similar and like the way you chopped 18 bars and moved back to 16 with poly to layer the sample transitions. I’m definitely trying these today! Thank you. Great to hear the MPC with the Iridium and Take 5. No way I could afford or justify the Iridium so got a Modwave. Another thing; great to hear diverse sounds being produced on the MPC. We need more of this!

sounds good. May I ask if you had midi problems with the mpc1? I am recording midi from my synth which works fine. But if I play it back to the synth using the mpc1 as sequencer, and I want to overdub the cuttoff for example, everything is messed up. It basically starts when I connect both midi in and out of the synth and mpc1. It seems like the signals interfere. I turned (soft) thru off. I just don't get it. As I remember doing it before without problems

Thanks! I personally haven't had issues with these synths, but I have in the past with synths that have 'active sense' constantly pinging the MPC. Seems to clog the midi bandwidth. Your example though sounds like the midi thru is being passed backed to the MPC even though you have it off. Have you tried turning off the midi monitor for the track on the MPC? Which synth is having the issues?

@@teftymusictech thanks, yes I turned monitor off. It's also happening with the novation bass station 2, I believe the same problem was with the deepmind 12D. and as said the pro800. I use a 4 channel midi usb hub. I will try removing it. but I remember testing without, and still having problems.

@@MasterIvo I had this problem when I left the midi input on "all ports" and "all" channels. It's on the channel strip, sequence tab.

@@simcax6087 hmm, today I noticed the problem is related to the "listen to" on the midi channel. and there was also as you said the "midi in from". it is still a mess. it seemed to be working but then it got messed up again. MIDI is really weird

Anyone Know what video it was where he showed how to set up prog. Ch. using mpc one and Digitone? he was switching the Digitone patches using the knob on the mpc

That was a few years ago on our music channel 'Tefty & Meems' ... Sounds like I had the 4 tracks of the Digitone setup with different patches and I was just changing the midi channel to select them. I don't believe it's possible to scroll through patches outside of the Digitone, because 'program changes' change the pattern you have selected. (This is all coming off the top of my head so I might be wrong somewhere 🤣)

Yes, audio is being sent through the USB audio interface from the MPC.
