I've got mine in 2021 - and Lord, I loved it so much! The touch, the feel, the pads, the knobs, ahhhh... )) It was pre-used (carefully), so it was cheap. The best bang-for-a-buck out there. Then I saw the MPC X. I liked it and the whole touchscreen idea. I looked at the price. I stopped liking it. Closed the tab. Re-opened the tab, looked at the price again. Closed the tab forever. And then a miracle happened. A buddy of mine was selling a 23'' touchscreen all-in-one HP Pavilion computer - you know, just a thick touchscreen monitor with some laptop hardware in it. So I bought it from him to dedicate it to the MPC Ren, and it was cheap either - in fact, even cheaper than the MPC itself. It took me like a week or so to get used to operate Windows without a mouse or a keyboard, and that was it. So now I have something even better than the MPC X - I've got my MPC Renaissance with a 23 inch touchscreen, a 3.4 GHz 4-core processor, 8 Gb ram, SSD, Lan, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and you name it! And it runs the latest MPC Software, ACID Pro, FL Studio and all the VST plugins I have - all for very little money (relatively). And believe you me, native AKAI ASIO drivers work wonders on that baby, really, even in ACID and FL Studio. And a wireless mouse appears later on, yes. It's a true D.A.W. for me and the heart of my studio. I love it even better now. I won't change it for anything now. I can even pack it up and take it with me somewhere - like a very big and heavy laptop, and it takes as much place on a table. Big big laptop - the whole studio with all it's projects, whoa! All I have is my "MPC Ren+HP Pavilion", a guitar, a mic and a usb midi keyboard. And that's basically everything one needs to make any genre of music. I don't need any more gear. I feel like a master of the universe! I just wonder how much would a 23'' MPC X cost. Cheers from Russia!

Hey bro thx for putting this video up. I’m actually in the process of workin w my boy to help him rebuild his studio from the ground up after a few years of inactivity…he so he went and got an MPC Ren since he was a heavy MpCX user back in the day, and were working on selecting a DAW for him now. So his previous xp is mostly in Protools yet he wants to be more up to date and midi heavy in his workflo. On the other hand MY setup is all based around Ableton Live and lots of different controllers, a APc40 and a Komplete Kontrol S-series keyboard. Of course I’m trying to get him to give Ableton a chance, and we’re trying to see how the Mpc ren fits into that workflow. He also bought a new KK S61. Anyhow, how well does the Mpc sw work into an Ableton flow? Is Ableton gonna be redundant? Should he stick w just protools? Any thoughts GREATLY appreciated

this is going to sound crazy to a few people here but i actually sold my mpc one for the ren. Why? The one has crashed on me multiple time, the touch screen can be unresponsive at times and you have to use the touch screen about 85% of the time. Back in 2012 the ren and studio werent stable because the os was buggy as hell. Now that akai fixed those bugs i have not had 1 crash while using the 2.10 software. Im an old school button guy and so used to the classic mpc workflow coming from the 2500. These recent akai mpcs arent my thing especially that horrid mpc studio 2 smh all these future akai updates will focus more on touchscreen features which is a letdown imo.
