I think a misconception is that when people see stems GUI on the MPC itself they think it's up there by itself in standalone. Stems just pops up on the MPC screen when you are using the MPC software. It's just like the plugins stuff that shows on the computer the hardware plugin has its own GUI too. They basically mirror themselves so the user doesn't get confused between two screens. Like while I was struggling to get it activated like everyone else earlier I still tried to process a file with stems on the laptop and it popped up on my MPC screen. Even though it told me no in some type of way since it wasn't activated. I still got the peek of the GUI before it stopped me from processing the file. It wasn't activated therefore I didn't have it downloaded either. The next step after activation is to download whatever it is to your storage. Although you can use the stems in standalone after you process and save from the computer. Just put that processed folder on your MPC drive. You'll still have the 4 Q-links with the stems in them to adjust.

Still telling me "Unable to initialise stems system "!?!? I went to bed and woke up at 4am U.S. time and re updated both software and firmware several times. Deactivated and reactivated Stems in controller + software mode and still same message after i try to stem out any sample. Very discouraging. Ive spent alot of money and time on Akai products. I understand there are millions of people downloading and updating MPC products and software but this bites a big weener😂😢😐. Come on akai you guys just made millions and possibly 100s of millions of this 10$ piece of crap. Other companies of lesser worth have successfully created stem seperation apps with no glitches at all. Serato namely. Im not much for complaining but yall should've waited and made damn well sure that this update would be successful.

press do it and i see the bar running. Two hour later do it with other sample and no bar running. Waiting for your video. It seems that log out will stop stems working (or not?) Never used the log in for MPC sessions.

I have a friend who’s using the MPC 61 keys on Mac Rosetta. He’s get any error after trying to stem out a sample. Is the Rosetta operating system the problem?

Yes, find MPC app in application’s folder right click on it select get info uncheck Rosetta

Does anyone happen to have an idea why my mpc touch keeps losing contact with the computer? The display always switches off at some point, then on again, etc. The display hasn't turned on at all for a few days. I tried reinstalling the display driver but it always says it is already installed. So I never had that problem before. Could it be a problem with the power supply or is my computer blocking some functions? It would be cool if someone has an idea. Especially for permissions that the program needs, maybe I accidentally changed something.

I figured it out. If you are on a Mac. Right click on the app and go to info tab. Make sure open using Rosetta is click off.

Make sure you got both the mpc software on 2.14 and your mpc on firmware 2.14. Also there is no just standalone version yet.

@@dontel68 Exactly that. It will be possible in future updates, just not ready yet. A bunch of content creators on KZbin have been saying this. In a recent video Andy mac said soon in later updates too. Trick though. Process the audio files on your desktop/laptop and save the folder with the processed stems onto your hardware MPC storage. When you load the project back up on your MPC hardware you'll still be able to control the 4 stems with Q-links like normal. Its the processing part you can't do in standalone yet.
