I love to see the joy that your Live 2 brings. I sleep with mine in bed, can't wait to get up n use it, if I'm out at a bar, I just wanna get home and create. I just did a degree in Sound Engineering & Music Production, I have the 2000 also. Nothing compares. I collected the best quality audio samples from my tutors, websites etc - but NOTHING compares to even the SOunds from the MPC native Expansions ---It is the Ultimate, I just bought the sickest Peli Case for it - going to start doing vids soon - You know I love your videos - So fresh & so clean so sharp Malo ↑

Ah man, that's so nice! I love that. I have kind of a ridiculous amount of gear right now, and I just got a Prophet 10 last week, but for some reason I'm especially in love with my MPC One. I think about it when I'm busy or away from home too, and I work through song ideas with it in my head almost every night while I'm falling asleep. I even pretended the sidewalk squares were MPC pads the other day and triggered a slow beat in my head as I walked along.

Like you sometimes I use it when I’m a little off. What I’ve learn to do play off the hihats I made. Another technique is that I play the groove in my head while the metronome is going before I press record
@gus_bro2 жыл бұрын
Mos def. These two strategies save a lot of time and keep things in order. Especially beatboxing the groove before (and after) recording. I try to keep ONLY what CAN be beatboxed or hummed. Everything else I delete or put in the background. When we make music it’s only so somebody else can hum it in the shower anyway 😂

My little MPC one and me are very happy to have learned that. And it was a great quick work of sample and bass you did after. This beat works very well. Thanks. And Take Care.

Great video as usual. Question for you or someone in the group: I bought my MPC Live 2 Used a few months ago, so slowing digging in and learning from your videos and others.. Question is- I notice my internal drive only has 1 GB free of 14.5 GB. There are lots of files and about 25 Demos and Templates .XPJ on the internal drive... from 2017, Plugins and Tons of Clips, Essential Inst 2, The Vault 2.0 ..but no other projects, but it is loaded up,..is this normal? I also see on the 'Splice' Files in the Content Menu in the Internal drive there are about 3000 Loops and samples, these were on the machine when I bought it, but no other 'Projects' - are these 3rd party samples that were put on by the previous owner? Can I move them to my SD card, or computer and free up the Internal drive space somehow? can someone explain how to move the files to my SD card or my computer? I would appreciate any help. how much free Internal memory should I have on my Live 2 as if it came from the factory? I am now saving my current projects to SD card ext. drive. Thanks.

I'm struggling to understand Mother Ducker. You added Mother Ducker to the sample and then added Mother Ducker Input to the kick. Is it that you're ducking the sample so the kicks shines through? Or vice versa?
@malobeats11 ай бұрын
Yes you got it right. It just creates a nice pumping effect where every time the kick hits the sample ducks down. It is an awesome technique.

When you’re talking about notes, 1/16 is said as ‘sixteenth notes’ and 1/32 is ‘thirty-second notes.’ If you say ‘one over sixteen’ any musician is going to look at you like you’re from outer space 😂
