MPD Academy Takes Physical Training to the Streets

More than 4 dozen future MPD Officers hit the streets for their morning run and physical training session. It is rare to see this many incoming members of the department together at the same time in the MPD’s Academy. These men and women will be officers patrolling the streets of Minneapolis by the end of the year, bringing the sworn staff to approximately 850 officers by 2016.
Every so often, leaders at the Academy like to showcase this hard-working group and a morning run through downtown gives the public a great chance to see our recruits in action in a very public way.

Most of them have probably left or will retire soon. Today the department is several HUNDRED cops short. Or more than a 1/3 bellow the peak levels . The remaining few cops will soon retire as the city is going down the drain and shutting down. Many other cities are in even worse situation such as San Francisco where more than half of the officers have left and the city is shut down with all the stores closed the homeless and the zombies on drugs being the only ones left.
