Ok, so this is clearly part of her leadership bid and purely self-serving. A point worth noting though is that there's quite a few Labour MPs who are for removing the cap but will vote to keep it because their chancellor says it's unaffordable... calling for things in opposition but not doing them in government is pretty standard in our politics I'm afraid.
@mobsiesixsixsix97856 ай бұрын
@@andytc4840 I agree, but usually the opposition at least gives the public time to forget. These guys think the public are completely brain dead. I mean for sure many are, but they're long gone to reform now. So this posturing doesn't help their cause at all. It does the exact opposite. The tories can't out extreme Reform and they can't be Labour. So I think that any win by Braverman is nothing but a pyrrhic victory anyway. The media loves her though. So I imagine she'll be off to reform soon anyway.
@johnnyraysimpson926 ай бұрын
@@andytc4840 I think there are some Labour members that will vote for the lifting of the cap (or at the very least, abstain). But yeah when push comes to shove and there is a vote in parliament I'm fairly confident Braverman will vote against it, despite what she is saying here.

Scrapping the policy this year would cost the current, Labour government £2.5bn, according to the Resolution Foundation think tank. But tory Kiers Scammer has pledge £3 billion a year to the Ukraine war effort, yet there is no money to help UK kids out of poverty. Same old story i.e. there is never any money for the dumb working classes. we spent £22 billion Afghanistan, £15 billion and rising Ukraine, £8 billion illegal war Iraq, Gordon brown found £billions of tax payers money to bail out the banks who then went on to give themselves £millions in bonuses, tory Keirs Scammer is already sharpening his knives, he gonna butcher the working class big time, enjoy, and they deserve it!

This has to be understood in context. She must have seen that "The Shires" are increasingly favouring Badenoch as the new leader. Over the years one characteristic of Bravaman has always been her naivety. She really thinks that by contriving so artificially to drum up headlines in the billionaire-owned filth RedTops that she can somehow "raise her profile" and thereby improve the odds of her winning the leadership race. In that sense, yes, completely deluded. But entirely consistent: once a simpleton always a simpleton.

Scrapping the policy this year would cost the current, Labour government £2.5bn, according to the Resolution Foundation think tank. tory kier scammer has said it is unaffordable. But yet tory Kiers Scammer has pledge £3 billion a year to the Ukraine war effort, yet there is no money to help UK kids out of poverty. Same old story i.e. there is never any money for the dumb working classes. we spent £22 billion Afghanistan, £15 billion and rising Ukraine, £8 billion illegal war Iraq, Gordon brown found £billions of tax payers money to bail out the banks who then went on to give themselves £millions in bonuses, tory Keirs Scammer is already sharpening his knives, he gonna butcher the working class big time, and don't they deserve it!
