Sophisticated witty series starring Richard Denning and Barbara Britton as a married couple living in NYC who investigate various crimes and invariably solve them before the police do!
SHRINKING VIOLET: Amelia Little, someone Pam hasn't seen since childhood, comes for a visit. Pam believes her odd behavior is simply a case of being overwhelmed by the big city. The truth is she's an impostor who tossed Amelia off the train and assumed her identity.

I love how u find all these great old shows I’ve never heard of. But then I was born in 1985. Even my mom has never heard of these shows. There’s something I love about these old b&w shows and movies. My favorite feel good movie of all time is Wizard Of Oz. I bought my very own DVD and one day a lil kid that was over my house with his parents watched it and loved it and wanted to take it. I’m like NO get your mom to buy u your own. All the grownups were like “oh just let him have it”. Like it’s free and I didn’t pay for it. But that’s not even the point. It’s mine and I do not want to give it away. I have my reasons and they’re nobody’s business. I’m so sick of idiot ppl always coddling spoiled brats. That is my DVD and I paid for it and if I don’t want to give it away I shouldn’t have to. I don’t care what ppl think of me. That lil brats mother could have easily just bought him one herself. But no, ppl think they could just come over your house and expect u to just give them your stuff coz they like it. Well I stopped having ppl and their spoiled brats over at my house and my dogs, cat and I are now very very happy.

Lisa That is a good Dear Abby type issue. :) Advice columns are good at suggesting things to say to politely but firmly set boundaries.

I wound up with a free DVD of The Wizard and got to a hero by giving it to my daughter-in-law. But I know your feeling! I only parted with mine so readily because I get to see The Wizard of Oz on television more than once a year. Those people should have scolded the impolite ill-bred youngster not to ASK FOR THINGS that other people own, or ask for things at all, short of a drink of water, when they are a guest-in-training, aka visiting CHILD. They should not have been scolding YOU to give your favorite movie to the brat. LOL.

@@653j521 I think boundaries should be set in whatever tone is chosen by the boundary-tester. It sounds to me like someone was trying to set a boundary politely but firmly, and getting nowhere. We shouldn't need Dear Abbey to decide how our children should behave unless it's some kind of really outrageous, bizarre issue. These days, though...yeah you might be right.

this seemed a bit darker than the other episodes I've seen up to this point. It was very Hitchcockian, a female psycho who kills in cold blood and takes on the victims identity and also visits national monuments like The Statue of Liberty ala Saboteur... and being pushed out of a window ala Rear Window...

LOL the Washington Sq Club For Women. The cheapest hostel in Washington Sq nowadays is an NYU dorm for $50K+ a year. Now *that's blackmail.

Richard Denning looks like Robert Young would look if he were smacked upside the head with a handsome stick. He has beautiful hair, a similar face but rearranged so beautifully. Robert Young has painted-on hair like Robert Montgomery and Herbert Marshall. I can't understand the draw of those guys, unless acting really is everything. It wouldn't be for a woman, she would have to also be beautiful. And young. * sigh * Why wasn't Richard Denning in EVERYTHING?? We'd have that much more to look back on. :9)

there was a comment concerning this issue. Robert Young was a big star at the time and because Richard Denning looked like him (or even better), he was sort of blackballed and never got the big break he deserved...
