Its funny as I am solely a diehard FL Studio user, but no matter what anytime i watch your tutorials or streams, etc. I always end up finding cool ways to translate what you do into FL Studio and come up with something new. Im glad to have been following you this long. Your contribution to electronic music is always appreciated by me, dog.

You could also set the loop mode in the envelopes to *Trigger* That way you can make sure that the entire kick will play, no matter how long the midi input is.

I like how you use a clicky keyboard too, sometimes its distracting but I love the feel of it:; Even the sound alone is pleasant to me.

Wicked tutorial man, I really appreciate your content (and contributions overall). I find your content to be in a completely different league compared to the majority of shit on KZbin. Glad to see you uploading tutorials again! I think I'll be becoming a member on your website very soon. Also, it was hilarious that you ended up spelling colour the American way anyway (:

I believe kicks are themselves, rather than sounding like a genre, they are there own...fit many (bd)options later, who knows many a deep kick works with your trance or gabba sometimes. (i dont listen or know much about these genres, just sound philosophizing!) But great videos/body of work man!!! Im here getting a quick basics re-check before i push some grufF an bUUmpF kicks out the A4mkii (w some fine external processing;)

I see Reaper in there too :). Great Pro Tools substitute for multitrack recording and mixing. I produce in it too, but I only switched after lots of hobbyist tinkering, making macros and templates, and getting enough third party plugins.

It would maybe have been nice for people to know that keeping a steady phase is really important for the cleanliness of the kick. I personally would rather mess with the volume envelope of the sine than using too much EQ to shape the frequencies because it introduces phase, which just makes it sound muddy and less impactful. I thought I'd comment it just for those who are interested in how it works, everybody can ofc do whatever they want.

@MrBillsTunes
@MrBillsTunes 7 жыл бұрын
Only 1 of these artists are psy-trance, tbh :p - and no, I love Infected Mushroom, it's the other 10,000 people bastardising it & boringly emulating it that give me the shits xD
@dankwarmouse6248
@dankwarmouse6248 7 жыл бұрын
Haha okay good, it is definitely true that psytrance is probably the easiest genre to get away with zero risk taking and cookie cutter song loops, but those who nail it definitely do it well :). Oddly enough it's the first genre I got into when I was transitioning out of my "all electronic music sucks" phase
@naught101
@naught101 7 жыл бұрын
Ott and Sphongle use psy sound design, but they definitely aren't trance.. Psybreaks, psybient, psybass, all those other psy genres are awesome. It's the brainless trance that's crap.
@dankwarmouse6248
@dankwarmouse6248 7 жыл бұрын
I guess I don't understand the psy genre distinctions all that well, but early Shpongle definitely had some psytrance, don't you think?
