This song is a good representation of the first album, but not of their 2nd and 3rd albums as those are completely different. One thing remains though, and that's the mix of styles. The first album has more funkmetal than the other two though. From the first album (which I like most of their albums) I recommend Squeeze me macaroni (and get a lyric sheet and TRY to sing along...!), Carousel, Stub A Dub, My Ass is on fire, The Girls of Porn or Dead Goon. From their 2nd album my favorite is Desert Search for Techno Allah and from their 3rd album I have a soft spot for Golem II: The Bionic Vapor Boy. Now...if you want to go COMPLETELY weirdo...3 of the members of Mr. Bungle...guitarist Trey Spruance, bassist Trevor Dunn and drummer Danny Heifetz formed a band called Secret Chiefs 3. Check out some of their stuff! But beware...this is completely weird music, and makes even Mr. Bungle sound like a nice commercial band.

Hello mate. Norwegian or danish? I listened to Mr. Bungle before getting on the internet and thought that I am the only one in the world listening to this weird music. And then the internet happened and I found that I am not alone. And you, my friend, is right up my alley. I have never heard the music of Secret Chiefs, but I have two of Pattons weird soloalbums. Don't you just LOVE music that not everybody gets. There is pop, dance music, rock and such things that a "everybody" likes, but Mr Bungle, Fantomas and such alike, you either hate it or love it!. Music that challenge you! I love it!
@chessbrainiac7 жыл бұрын
I am norwegian. I've also heard those two soloalbums from Patton. I remember listening to them for the first time with a friend of mine who shares my taste for the strange and the weird. We just had to laugh. The really fun part though, is playing those albums to people who only like the most commercial modern pop music! I am normally not sadistic by any means, but I just love to see their faces when they are forced to listening to something you know they hate immensly! My revenge for the monotonous techno music some of them have tortured me with...! I really recommend listening to Secret Chiefs 3 and a band called Estradasphere. They were on the same label, a label created by Trey Spruance to release all those weird projects he liked. Estradasphere once toured throughout USA with a norwegian band named Farmers Market. That's another band you should check out. Estradasphere and Farmers Market are actually insanely good musicians. Their music is quite virtuosic at times. And they also mix styles a lot, mostly jazz and various ethnic styles.

Pink Cigarrete,Retrovertigo.Some amazing fan-made videos for those two.
Oh man! I'm so glad you finally did this! Just a little background on this song. This songs original name was "Travolta". The whole thing is about how John Travolta, a Scientologist, is a shapeshifting clown. After the band was sued, they changed the name of the song to "Quote Unquote". Yes, this is a weird place to start, but Mr. Bungle is a weird band. You should try out "The Air Conditioned Nightmare" off of their California album next. An Album that caused the band to be sued by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers because they were releasing their "Californiacation" Album the same week which they claimed "Was a rip off of their material". Well, I'll let you decide for yourself who was really in the wrong there. ;) Also man, you should try songs that don't have videos to them.

It was a feud, RHCP never sued Bungle, they did have WB delay their album release date, however and Anthony had Bungle removed from major festivals in Europe and Australia... RHCP or Anthony did try to sue the TV show Califonication with little success LOL

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum ~ 1997 & Donkey-Headed Adversary (my fave band). Estradasphere ~ Hungerstrike (20mins of genius this track)

Might interest you to know this was Mike Patton's original band. He joined Faith No More as a way to achieve his dream of getting paid to do music...but when they disbanded he quickly resurrected Mr. Bungle. The original intent was to keep his identity a secret and wear a mask so people wouldn't popularize them JUST because of his name being attatched. that idea fell apart though because...well...It's MIKE PATTON. Everyone knows his voice. He also had the bands / side projects, Tomahawk (whose album "anonymous" is nothing but native american songs being covered and is amazing), Peeping Tom, and Fantomas. ALL ARE AMAZING. Also Mr. Bungle is MEANT to invoke insanity as an affliction, phenomenon and occurrence in it's totality. My old psychiatrist was a FAN and he claimed he had found that many people suffering from mental illness CANNOT HANDLE listening to it. Make of that what you will. There are multiple layers. You can listen to it for years and always catch something new. Like it or not, Patton is a genius. X3

Harmony Wisdom Bungle aren't just Mike Patton's band - he was one of the main contributors stylistically and for songwriting but Trey Spruance the guitarist and Trevor Dunn the bassist were also key contributors and in fact wrote the majority of their excellent lyrics. Patton only wrote the lyrics for a few songs.
