I will always treasure the past where times were simpler and things were quality. I could go on a tangent about how the past was better and having been born in 1990 by the time I got old enough to begin living more like an adult and appreciate things unfortunately things in America had vastly degraded. Gone were all the iconic stores we use to shop at. Most malls gone. Reliable affordable transportation gone. Cool affordable family owned diners and drive ins gone. I feel like today we are on a carousel spinning at warp speed and the only goal is to work 24/7 just to be able to stay alive to the next day. So I feel going on these explores is the only hope of ever experiencing the America my parents grew up in the prosperous one where everyone lived a comfortable life owning a house car being debt free and not having to have a degree to work at McDonald’s. @@TiltedTripodMedia unfortunately Ashtabula is just not in a good economic standing and has been on a downward trend for years. These mom and pop places are getting crushed day after day. Sad, but I assume a family member passed away and there was no one to carry on the business. It’s crazy how Ashtabula is almost an exact mirror of Elyria when looking at current status on the exact other side of Cleveland.

@@charlestonpinballarcade yes I agree with that however I don’t consider Ashtabula part of the Cleveland metro as it’s got a decent amount of blank space between it and the eastern suburbs of Cleveland (painsville/mentor) however Elyria is definitely part of the Cleveland metro but I do see how they are both declining similarly.

Oh that hadn’t occurred to me 😊 if I remember correctly, the news article I found while exploring the place had an interview with the owner and a picture of the owner, and they didn’t look anywhere near the age of death, but then I suppose people can die at any age, but they didn’t look any more than 50 years old. So who knows maybe that’s just part of the mystery did the place close because the owners died? I don’t know if we’ll ever know that answer. Hope you really enjoyed this video. Well…… you saw in the video it was just open. I’m sorry I won’t go into a place if I have to break in. I also respect the places I explore so others can enjoy them intact as I found them. Lastly I don’t think breaking into a place to make a video and earn $5 is worth going to Jail for vandalism and breaking an entering. I hope you enjoyed the explore.
