I feel like 90% of these are really just "big things = scary", which seems to be how a lot of people feel but it's just not my thing. Trust me, I'm a scaredy cat about a LOT of things, but just not that concept on its own. Like with thalassophobia, it's not a fear of animals in the water, it's actually a fear of the water itself. It's not about drowning or running into sharks, it's the fear of the sheer depth and vastness of the water. It's more about what's _not_ in the water. But in these kinds of videos people mix it up and it's just about big sharks or something similar. Actual themes of thalassophobia scare the hell out of me

I have some sort of phobia that I really can't explain! My first time experiencing it was around 7 or 8 years old in a dream. It involved a very large amount of grains of rice spilling onto the floor of my room, enough to fill the room to my ankles. And the only way I could explain the feeling I felt while watching the rice spill was some intense mixture of fear and being overwhelmed. But that feeling froze me and made my stomach+head hurt. I experienced the feeling in real life again in my teens when trying to pick up something the size of a rice grain by pinching it. And once again in my late 20s when simply thinking about something completely unrelated to rice. That feeling is unreal and makes me believe those people afraid of the simplest things. 😂
