I quit reading with the introduction of computers. Now I prefer audiobooks which I never did before. I always found that the narrators voice and especially the special effects were interfering with my own imagination. Oh and I'm 52 atm.

Thanks for these. I like listening to books I've read already when walking or driving. Of course the Irish have the best accent for reading anything. 😁💕

Have greatly enjoyed listening to this series of recordings. Your enthusiasm for the material comes across very well. I actually love the fact that you have chosen not to edit to create an illusion of 'perfection' in the readings. It gives them the feel of listening to a friend or family member read and makes them all the more engaging and at least we know you're not an AI! Here's looking forward to more Hornblower, or perhaps some Aubrey. Many thanks.

Nicely done. Thanks. You don’t need to be professional to read aloud. Your voice is pleasant. Its Irish bent lends itself to the material. I felt as though a friend and. I were taking turns reading the book to each other.

Thank you so much for your admirable reading of Mr. Midshipman Hornblower. The C.S. Forrester Hornblower series was a favorite of mine as a youth. I still have a well worn (read) paperback copy of Mr. Midshipman Hornblower. Did you ever consider reading some of the Patrick O'Brien Aubrey/Maturin series? These are also fantastic naval fiction of the Napoleonic period.

A couple of suggestions for the future surra... and particularly if you're not of a nautical persuasion. The word you pronounce as 'GUNWHALE' is pronounced phonetically as 'GUNNLE' and the word you pronounced as 'FORECASTLE' is pronounced phonetically as 'FOKESAL". Apart from that, more power to your elbow suura! Arrrrrr! Ready about!!!!
