Cool clock. The nixie tube looks good. Thanks for posting!

Thanks Steve! I agree, the IN-18 tube is easily the best the Soviets made.

Very nice, like manual too, wish more things had good books like that with it. And this clocks been on a journey! Tube in 79, kit in 07, clock in 23. 44 years!

Right? Good manuals are a lost art it seems. These days you are lucky to even get a link to a PDF manual. Many kits come with just a schematic, if anything. It's been on a journey across the world too! From Mr Nixie in the UK -> the original buyer (USA) -> insidiousnixies (Australia) -> JimO (USA) -> Me (USA).

Interesting. I would never have thought of a single digit Nixie clock, but the concept works well. Nice manual too.

As Nixie tube prices continue to rise, I expect we will see more kits like this, as a set of six IN-18 is going for about $500 now!

@@50sTransistorRadios $500? Wow! I guess I shouldn’t have waited until now to build a Nixie clock.

The menus on the modern Nixie clocks drives me nuts, especially during time changes. Nice clock otherwise!

I agree with you on all of that, at the end of the day, it's still a nice looking clock. MOST old digital clocks are pretty easy to set, with a physical switch (or switch position) for each feature, it's a shame that concept has faded away.

No infomercials for me...

It's not an informercial, this clock has been out of production for at least 10 years...
