@@chriswayneevans plenty of other white guys in the lines up. Arnold had charisma and charm and oooularize Frye sport. He made going to the gym and doing weights mainstream. It wasn’t his skin colour that was the primary factor - many other white guys in the 1975 lineup. But it was ability to made the overall industry flourish - companies that sold gym equipment, gyms, companies that sold supplements, fitness magazine companies, fitness shows, fitness programs. Arnold made it popular to go and do weights at the gym for everyone including women. It was no longer viewed as weird. The number of companies that could be started from this new era of fitness was huge and Arnold was needed for that. There’s a reason why HE was the guy chosen out of many white guys.

I read countless books by Arnold and especially the massive "bible of bodybuilding" he wrote. One thing that comes back all the time which Arnold says...Is that he says that bodybuilders back then, especially guys like him, Franco, Tom Platz, etc...Trained like true pro athletes. Very heavy WEIGHTLIFTING days with the big 3 (press, squat, deadlift) like olympic weightlifters. He says that created a definition and density normal bodybuilders don't have but it took much sacrifice and tears. Modern bodybuilders don't want to train like that, too tiring and suffering, they just pump the muscles with less risky weight and exercises.

Por isso que é mais legal ver hj, antigamente só ficavam 3 competindo no palco e o resto nem aparecia, fora que não tinha um padrão de poses, cada um fazia do jeito que queria e as transações eram todas mto rápidas, não dava pra ver os detalhes de cada atleta. O padrão elevou hj em dia, por mais que eu ame essa era do Arnold, com esse físico hj em dia ele não pegaria nem top 10, porém pra época dele ele era imbatível porém faltava posterior pra ter o equilíbrio que existe na atualidade.
