I won a Dance Contest at a local Dance Bar (Cisco's - which has been gone for a long, long time, now) in Manhattan Beach, CA in the early-1970s. My partner & I, a fabulous female dancer, did The LACC Stomp to it. I love this song - the dance step & the beat of this song match-up, ideally!

This was a huge CKLW hit. And I remember thinking, from the Detroit side of the border: those folks in Windsor really know how to get down :)

In the early 1970's, I was a drummer in a Top 40 band in the San Francisco Bay Area. We learned this song, and I'd get from behind my drums and sing the song, (if you can call it singing), and dance the penguin. Me and my long hair dancing what was actually much like the drum rudiment called a paradiddle. :)

Yes sir!. Just heard the guitar solo. That was Leroy Emmanuel with the Fabulous Counts. I KNOW that is Leroy playing guitar. I snuck in the Local 876 5 or 6 times just to watch him play ( and steal his licks!)
