My 14 year old Yorkie is a medical nightmare. The Vet told me he’s surprised she’s still alive, but said it’s because I was such a good MOM. I was thrilled, I’m finally a real Mom at 72. Sleepless nights, lots of meds, and daily buggy rides. Poms sounds like my dog with enlarged heart, congestive heart failure, and collapsing trachea. An inhaler and heart meds will help him, Lee. My Yorkie had CHF and her trachea was a bit narrow. First sign of a problem (bad coughing spell) and she saw the vet and got an echocardiogram the next day and started on 2 meds. She lived over 2.5 years on treatment (many more meds by the end). I was her mom for sure. After more than a year without her, my heart was finally open to a little rescue Biewer terrier we got 5 months ago (she was about 18 months old at the time and very undersocialized). She's got chronic anxiety when leaving the house and was neglected in so many ways, but she is the sweetest little thing. She is finally getting professionally groomed tomorrow (my Yorkie's groomer). It took tweaking her anxiety meds twice (and she will still be a handful for the groomer) and 5 months to settle in. We did a meet & greet yesterday so at least it won't be her first time there. I'm looking forward to helping her slowly get exposed to fun and more places and people. She's in for the rest of her lifetime filled with love and attention. The little Yorkies & Biewers make such good companions! Love to your little one!

I adopted a one year old white Pomeranian from the county animal shelter. He quickly became the love of my life. He also became a medical nightmare. Thyroid disease, a heart murmur, congestive heart failure, liver disease, pancreas and kidney issues. Then he went deaf. Through it all, he never lost his pom pom smile, his fun and loving personality, or his cuddly nature. On Feb. 7, he passed away quietly while lying next to me in bed. He was 14. I was, and am, devastated. I miss him so, so much and still cry every day. I know I will see him on the other side. I know you will give the beautiful Mr. Pom the best life possible, Lee. Thank you.

I had rescued a 12 year-old terrier, with no teeth, arthritis and other health issues. I rescued her the day before she was to be euthanized. I had her for 3 1/2 years. She was a sweetheart. I still miss her. I have a huge fan of rescuing dogs, especially the seniors.

We rescued a 6 ye old beagle/terrier mix. She was one hour from being put down and had been labeled vicious. We already knew this dog so we knew that wasn't true..11 years later, she's still in extremely good health and strong as an ox. Her teeth could use more of a cleaning than we can do at home, a little bit of arthritis, and is gradually getting hard off hearing. But she's a miracle and has never met an enemy. Everyone is a potential friend. ❤️♥️❤️

My beautiful Cain, a Pom lived to 17. What a precious boy he was. He was found on the streets when he was only a few months old. He was full of love and compassion. The sound that Mr. Pom is making, is the same as my boy had. His oesophagus was narrow according to x-rays, but it didn't affect his life.
