If anyone besides Roger Rodgerson has a better understanding of the criminal underworld, I have yet to hear or read about them because he played both sides against each other and he was one of only a few Sydney police who were good at their job, but didn't feel that the remuneration for a thankless and dangerous job was enough considering the job they had to do.The fact that most were 90% on the level is a testament to the values of a lot of these men and women ,in that most had what most people would call a moral compass, and their main objective was to protect the 'normals' from people like Alphonse and Jason and Mick Moran, and the 'Familia' around them, and to let them kill each other as long as it didn't bleed,' so to speak 'into the public arena and media, which, was extremely bad for business and cut the profits by as much as 70 % overnight. He was, and never would be, The Black Prince of Lygon Street that HE thought he was.

Why is trying to kill a police officer a step further than leaving a two year kid with her dead parents? Clearly the former is far worse than the latter? Or is it because we are all just pedestrians/civilians so it doesn't mean as much?
