The "Regulatory, Corporate & Shariah Governance Framework for Islamic Banking Institutions (IBIS)" class, part of the Islamic Banking Certificate Course (IBCC-64) offered by the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) at the Al-Sadiq Institute of Islamic Banking, Finance & Takaful, recently had the privilege of hosting Mr. Tariq Naseem Saheb, Head of the Islamic Finance Department at the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), online via Zoom.
Mr. Tariq Naseem Saheb generously shared his invaluable insights into the Islamic finance industry and the SECP’s efforts toward transforming Pakistan’s economy into a Riba-free system. He also praised the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for its capacity-building initiatives among Shariah scholars, which are crucial for achieving the Federal Shariat Court’s mandate for a Riba-free economy. Additionally, Mr. Tariq Naseem Saheb commended institutes like the Al-Sadiq Institute for their dedication to offering courses that benefit both Shariah scholars and professional bankers.
