I remember being at Gold's Gym in Fayetteville GA working out on MANY occasions while Orndorff was there. Always a good guy, willing to work in and out of stations with folks and always seemed down to earth. I never had IN DEPTH conversations with him...but the words in passing were always polite and not pretentious. Just a real guy. Can't say that about some of the other pro wrestlers that went through that gym though.

Look dude, that is not true. Many former WWF wrestlers have stated that Snuke received more pops than Hogan, but Vince would manipulate the audio in post-production so it would sound like Hogan was getting the loudest pop.....

MR. WONDERFUL PAUL ORNDORFF was the 1st cool heel next to THE FABULOUS FREEBIRDS I identified with and make it cool to root and cheer for the HEEL wrestler. If they made the switch to babyface I'd still follow them. If I like a wrestler nowdays I'd follow them and be a FAN of thier career HEEL or FACE. :)

I don't know if it's still true today - but his and hogans feud (as short as it actually was) was the biggest moneymaker in wrestling for a LONG time. Before WM III they had the biggest attendance record.

Orndorff and Harley Race were possibly the two toughest legit guys in the business. It's a shame Orndorff got hurt and couldn't get a run as champ. That match could of drawn huge numbers at Wrestlemania.

Orndorff comes off abit edgy but that was always his style. He's not arrogant,he's just a straight shooter.tells you what he feels and he's totally a blue collar hard ring worker. Wrestling was better when he was in the ring.

Should have been WWF Heavyweight Champion or at least Intercontinental Champion. They dropped the ball with the Hogan/Orndoff angle back in 1986. They should had Hogan drop the title to Orndoff at SNL Main Event in that cage match. Everybody was watching this. Back then, wrestling was beating out the actual SNL episodes rating-wise. Orndoff would have then drawn major heat and then have Hogan regain it back. That would have been epic. That would have made more sense than Hogan losing the title to Andre who probably never needed a title run back in 1988.

"Son" is jut an expression..kind of like dude or bloke etc etc etc. And the point is that Snuka in the early 80s during the rise of Hulkamania was more over than Hogan, but Vince didn't like that so he made sure that on TV Hogan received the loudest cheers...

Orndorff is BSing about Vader. Granted a few punches were thrown but Vader did not want to fight a man that was paralyzed on one of his arms.

Thanks. And he said in this interview that he and hogan had the best cage match ever. That is not true. The best cage match ever was either hbk vs taker or mankind vs taker....and even bret vs owen in the cage was better than orndorff vs hogan......

They both worked for Vince why would he sabotage his own? Doesnt make any sense. Snuka was never the international star hogan was. They say Ultimate Warrior got the loudest "pop" doesn't mean that much in the long run
@teamchb3143

The most over man in the company back in those days was Snuka..not Hogan or Orndorff......

Son?? Is that a not so subtle way to make yourself seem wise or are you just that condescending? So the argument has gone from who was more "over" with the fans Snuka, Hogan or Mr Wonderful to Snuka drawing money. Snuka was ok but he wasnt a headliner like Hogan. Was Snuka the main event when wrestling was at its peak? Anyway each to their own. If you are unable or unwilling to concede the most basic points there is little point in a discussion.

Son, look Vince wanted Hulk Hogan to be the main guy. Not the fans. So if Vince wanted Hogan to be the main star, then Vince made Hogan the main star..and Snuka may not have been the international star that Hogan was, but Snuka was still a major draw , and still loved by all and added many memorable events in wrestling...he made money..he drew..what more can you ask for?
