Someone asked me the benefits of different knots so I am comparing the Pro and Parnell knots. Some use the Pro knot in tight locations which are difficult for the Parnell. This method makes the Parnell a piece of cake so I use the Parnell exclusively.
Check out the rubber band vibration dampener in bottom of the racket. It deadens the vibrations a lot compared to rubber bands that are tied into the frame.

Never thought to do that but the moment you started the knot I thought "ohhhhh yeah" of course that will work. Simple but really helps to see it done on video.

I’m always looking forward to your videos. A question though. What’s the advantage(s) of a parnell knot over a pro knot?
@Mr10sStringer
@Mr10sStringer 4 жыл бұрын
The Parnell knot is a little bulkier than the Pro knot so there is less chance of the knot being pulled into the grommet. The farther the knot is pulled into the grommet the more tension you loose.

@@Mr10sStringer I'm just trying to think through at what point of the string job you'd have to put the rubber band in, etc. My head is hurting, lol. I guess it's technically illegal, though. But I doubt anyone at my level would complain about it.

deanm66 that was an ATW pattern in an 18x20 racket. I put the rubberband in when I installed the 19th or last cross. If you want an M in the racket you could install the rubberband as you run the 20th cross

Do you consider string type (e.g., polyester, syn gut) when deciding which knot to use? For example, a stiffer poly may be better suited for a Wilson pro knot, whereas the Parnell knot seems to be easier to use with a more flexible synthetic gut.
@Mr10sStringer
@Mr10sStringer 4 жыл бұрын
T. S. I only consider the string when tying a starting knot. For poly I use a VS starting knot. For thin gauge strings and more flexible strings I use an IKnot. Depends on the string some times I use a little less pulling to tighten my tie off like gut and Kevlar.
@brentwalker3300

I think that the flexibility/stretch and gauge of the string are considerations when choosing a knot. Thin gauge and flexible strings often need a bulkier know to avoid being pulled through the grommet.

I had a question about tension , I have a client that wants his mains at 60 and crosses at 70lbs , what are your thoughts on the crosses request , mains I can certainly do.?
@Mr10sStringer
@Mr10sStringer 4 жыл бұрын
canadian tennis pro bad idea. My guess is you will have a difficult time getting the racket off the machine due to distortion and high tension.

How do you wind up tying off the mains after you've already done the cross strings. Aren't your clamps kept busy holding the mains when you will need them to do the cross strings?

Just wondering how are you holding tension on the last cross? I didnt see any clamp or anything in the video.
@Mr10sStringer
@Mr10sStringer 4 жыл бұрын
Rob Evans that is an around the world pattern. I first string the 14 center mains, then I used the short side to string the outer mains, top, bottom crosses, and tied off. Then I use the long side to string the crosses from 2-18.

Hello Sir. I have a problem on my star 5 babolat stringing machine. The slider get stacked even I release it... hope you help me with this problem
@Mr10sStringer
@Mr10sStringer 4 жыл бұрын
Christian Basa not sure what you mean by the slider getting stacked. If you meant to say the string gets stuck then yes I have that issue occasionally. When I pull a stiff poly the string may not always release when I release the tensioner. I have to lift up the free string from the back of the tensioner first. I am not exerting any pressure to release the string just more like moving the string up and out of the gripper.
@Mr10sStringer
@Mr10sStringer 4 жыл бұрын
This sticking may happen when I am release a starting clamp because there is little or no stretch in the string. When releasing the starting clamp I usually lift the string a little (between starting clamp and the diablo) to generate slack or the string may stick in the gripper.
