This is, by far, the clearest and most helpful illustration of how to tie a Parnell Knot. Thanks a million!

This the best demonstration and explanation I've seen. Thank you!

I used one/a Parnell knot as a starting knot. Worked fine.

i've been using the Parnell knot as a starting knot on the cross and it works fine. Never had an issue with it...

By far the best of the tie-off knots: easy to do, neat finish, and closes up perfectly even with monofilament string (unlike the double half hitch).

Super helpful was unable to figure it out from any other vids but the large scale helps a lot. Thanks!

thank you! I'm using this knot now at the end of mains and I think that it's the best for it! :D

@arsy123 yes you can. It is recommended (according to kipper mate stringing guide) to keep them at 1/4 of an inch). If they are very sharp, but can blunt the end.

Does the parnell knot hold tention better then a pro knot?
@Standupnfall14 жыл бұрын
I'm sure Yulitle would answer this but I know he has been quite busy. You pull tension on the final main, then clamp it as usual, then tie and cinch up your knot by hand or with gentle use of a starting clamp or pliers. You DO NOT pull tension on any knot. Pulling tension with any kind of tension head on a knot is bad practice and not necessary. Thanks

Great! Ive been struggling to figure out the correct way to do the know but since all other vids done using real badminton strings so its really hard to see.

@wilsongrip Yeah, the Parnell is a finishing knot.

I have no idea. I think that the double half-hitch is better for gut, personally. But, I've never heard of a gut knot...

When you are done stringing with the mains and crosses, do you end with this knot? Pelase reply.
@niTro4no115 жыл бұрын
yes very good, but what is the parnell knot good for?
@supertrex216 жыл бұрын
yes u can just double weave it. or tripple.

Wouldnt this loosen some of the tension for the last row since you cannot pull tension on this?

Hey do you have a vdo for target(blue) string being present on the left side of the knot string(red)
@the4paths16 жыл бұрын
you may have answered this already but can this not be used for starter knot. Well, I know it can(ive used it a few time as one) but should it be.

Knotting with poly can be difficult no matter what kind of knot, IF the bit of string you are using is short. I haven't had issues using this know with poly when the length of poly is substantial. Otherwise I used a double half-hitch.
@YULitle16 жыл бұрын
You can use it anywhere. BUT, if you use it at the start of the crosses, you have to start with a starting clamp. This know is NOT to be used as a starting knot.
@benjaminjensen111Ай бұрын
Why not? Works fine as starting knot for crosses for me. The Parnel knot is essientially almost like a starting knot. Two rounds around the anker string and through the loop.

hey, your videos are helpful. thx. couple q's tho. with knots, i'm finding when i string my racq that the red string in your vid which is on my right side and not the left side of the other string which makes me feel like i'm knotting it backwards. any advice. also i use a polyester string for my mains and they seem very stiff to tie. and when i tie the tension seems to loosen up. how can i tie them w/o feelin like i lose a bit of tension of 60lbs. thx
@Sokeresa4 жыл бұрын
What kind of machine you have? Some automatic machines have a knot feature - meaning the last main or cross before the knot is pulled tighter to compensate for the loss automatically. If you have drop weight or crank machine then manually increase the tension for last string before knot 3-5lbs or 2-4kg only and you will be set. At first i had difficulties too and the last string was looser, but after a while u got it better
@Sokeresa4 жыл бұрын
Also if your strong is backwards just do the same as the video but mirror image it, where he goes left you go right. Over and under are the same
@alexloisel49564 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, on other vidéos it is too small for i well understand....
@YULitle16 жыл бұрын
It's really too small to be used as a starting knot properly. The forces a finishing knot is subjected to are smaller and different than those applied to a starting knot. If you use a starting clamp to start your crosses, then this knot is obviously usable as it is a finishing knot in that instance.

Knot was a waste of my time. Cinching up monofil was a pain.
