@@twilightblaze2052 Most people who play the games probably wouldn't link Battle Frontier Caitlin with Elite 4 Caitlin. If they actually get far enough to face Darach, they'll be too focussed on beating him to pay attention to her so many wouldn't even recognise her as the same character. I think it was smart of the creators to show that she has a life outside of the Battle Frontier whilst linking Unova to the rest of the Pokemon world and balancing it out with the soft reboot idea. In Black and White, Caitlin is the first indication that there's an entire world outside of the Unova region because the Pokemon from other regions don't show up until after you've defeated N and Ghetsis. Using Caitlin as a link between Unova and the Gen 4 Battle Frontier also rewards players who actually pay attention because they can feel some satisfaction for making the connection. This NPC who looks down at you from a balcony and doesn't even bother to fight you herself turns out to be one of the most powerful trainers in Unova. At first, you might just assume that she's too scared to fight you so she hides behind her butler but then you realise that you're just not worth her time in the Battle Frontier which adds to Caitlin's aura of power.

They should seriously bring back the World Championships end game event, and make all the Gym Leaders, Elite 4, and Champions max level and fully develop their teams. That could be absolute fire and a really fun challenge. If they want to go really crazy, make an easy mode for progression, them have a hard mode where all pokemon are level 100 with perfect IVs and EVs.

Anybody want to help me arrange potential teams for all of the Gym Leaders, Elite 4 and Champions in a World Tournament? No Gigantamax/Dynamax because fuck that gimmick straight to the Distortion Realm but everybody can use one Mega Evolution and one Z-Move. I'd also include the Frontier Brains to make up for the fact that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire squandered the potential for you to square off against an updated Hoenn Battle Frontier. Imagine if Brandon came at you with a Primal Regigigas flanked by the Legendary Golems. Pokemon Insurgence was the only game that actually fixed Regigigas but that's a fan-made game. A very good one but it isn't officially recognised. Maybe even throw in rivals like Silver, Wally and Barry. They'd go above Gym Leaders, since they canonically beat them, but below Elite 4, since the player canonically stops them from entering the Pokemon League.

An extra disappointing thing about the Kalos E4 is how the anime made them seem a lot more competent with the addition of a nice Mega to their teams (Mega Blastoise for Siebold, Mega Houndoom for Malva, Mega Scizor for Wikstrom and Mega Altaria for Drasna). Seems like they were intended to be given a bit of a boost until the planned Kalos sequels got scrapped due to schedule constraints. Guess we'll have to wait another decade or so for the inevitable Kalos remakes for any of them (other than Wikstrom by virtue of his Aegislash) to have a halfway decent team.

After all, Raihan is technically a dragon type specialist but his team is overtly more of a weather condition team (even in the Wyndon rematch where he's slightly more dragon-centric). Kaitlin is outmatching everyone, because she's holding back. She used to make her butler fight for her when she was a teenager, because she would just kill her enemies if she got tilted. She could squeeze your Pokémon to death herself if she wanted. But Caitlin has moved past that. She's mastered the ancient art of not giving a fuck.
