That crazy EP3 Civic driver looks like he knows what his doing. Looks like a rare Type R.

That's unlucky. Quicker steering input could have helped this. Although, the car could also snap in other direction. Hope, there's not too much damage - have a quick recovery! The track looks amazing.

I got too excited and was caught off guard. Definetely could have done more. Lack of experience and skill. Damage is not bad and hit was absorbed good way and only parts before shock tower were damaged. Will be back and ready for action next summer.

@@samie807 happened in a 4th gear . it was definitely a fast corner. no need to downshift and enter the apex with 3rd gear . you did lift of the gas at the apex entrance and weight transfer made that oversteer happened. giving gas means traction in a mr cars ... have a quick recovery

Hi what exactly happens in these snap oversteers? And how do you prevent it? As a beginner driver, what can I do to improve my driving skill on these platforms?

I´m a beginner myself so not the best person to comment. I felt I had too much entry speed coming to the corner. Lifted the throttle which moved the weight to the front and lost grip at the rear. This happened just corner entrance so the car spun. Lack of experience and car´s dramatic reaction to my driving input I was surprised and initial reaction was slow. "Never lift!!" is imprinted to my brain after this :)

Slow in fast out. Also avoid engine braking because it acts like hand brakes while cornering.

i guess MR platform are not so forgiving in making mistake (when driving at the edge of the capability of the vehicle), you need to study and anticipate the corners, determine road conditions ahead really quick, you need to be vigilant and sensitive towards weight transfer. its a good platform to train your driving skill

I really don't understand why people say they prefer oversteer then understeer i feel like if you make one mistake it's over

Understeer make car safer but oversteer make car quicker because you can rotate the car quicker

Second time driving on track so don´t have much track experience. Had good grip before the incident and did not expect lifting throttle to have such dramatic result. It letting go caught me off guard and I suppose was in a shock.

@@samie807 that must have been really scary. Looks like you weren't hurt, thank goodness, and you scrubbed off some speed before hitting the wall; I hope there wasn't too much damage to the car. No matter how much I read about lift-off oversteer I still find it hard to imagine that just lifting off can cause such a spin, even though I know it's true. I can definitely imagine how it would have caught you by surprise, especially when you had good stability until then. I guess the MR2 is especially prone to this with the mid engine, although the car is probably really responsive and fun when it doesn't spin! I've only done one track weekend myself and luckily didn't have any scary moments like this but I was in a car that doesn't spin as easily (Audi A4).

It probably helped, that he didn't have those instincts, as the car could very quickly head to the other wall with much more energy.

your mistake was not flooring it after you spun out. You gotta step on the gas not the brakes

@@ValtteriV no no, the death sentence on these cars is to lift or brake mid corner. Even a little throttle keeps you in traction. You only have a split second window to regain traction and straighten the car.

@@dsx5036 yes, I was more responding to the part "after you spun out" I do own a sw20 turbo myself and had the experience a few times, even at slow speeds in the winter :D best way to keep it planted is to brake before steering and maintain smooth inputs in corners to maintain stability but once it's going the best way to catch it is by steering and hoping you have enough room on the outside, stepping on the throttle while the rear is already sliding will make it come around even faster
