Look at the state Pakistan is in after gaining independence from British India. It lags far behind in terms of so many metrics as compared to its secular neighbour India. Making it an islamic state did not do any favours. Once your religious friends get into power they are only concerned with inflicting punishments on people and enforcing blasphemy laws. They are unfit to govern.
@Malik007J4 жыл бұрын
Hostile Hawk Hostile Hawk Have you looked at the state of India right now. Lockdown of Kashmir, at one point almost 900000 Indian troops in Kashmir, removing article 370 which stripped away the right to self determination for kashmirs. Just read up on the human right violation committed, how many Kashmiri women have been raped? On top of that in India due to CAB andCAA, malicious attacks on Muslim homes have been carried out. Muslims have been marginalised and dehumanised and demonised.Is this the secular state you are talking about. A country where rape is so widespread, a state where there is a lack of toilets. The BJP government is a bigoted, racist, extremist, xenophobic, neo nazi hate pedalling government. By the way how many times has the blasphemy law been carried out in Pakistan. Freedom of speech is there, hate speech is not allowed. Intellectual debates have been carried out. Have there been a couple of unjust incidents and barbaric honour killings? Yes but this is totally against Islam. I truly think you have the wrong interpretation of an Islamic state. ISIS are not an Islamic state, they are using religion as a means to attract individuals into their group. An Islamic state has 5 main objectives, please look it up. We know our religion alhamdulillah. Yes there are harsh laws as a preventative measure, to stop people from stealing, cheating and causing harm on earth. By the way, it’s not like you steal a bottle of water then the court rules for your hand to be chopped off. No. That law will take place, say for example if you steal from a house and that family has now become financially unstable, the kids are traumatised, now they can’t feed themselves. Or you steal from an orphan or single mom house. Then if judge and those that you steal from rule for your hand to be cut off then it will be. As an example for society to not rob houses, banks, orphanages etc. Trust me if this law was in place, theft would be at it’s all time low. Another secular country, America. Have you looked up the numbers of crime in America! It’s crazy. Im not saying Pakistan is perfect, in fact the hardship we’re in is because we have moved away from Islam. Corruption is so prominent in Pakistan, why? Because they are not following Islam instead they are just money hungry individuals like nawaz sharif or zardari. InshaAllah with Imran Khan, Pakistan will become like how the state of madinah was under the prophet Muhammad. A religion full of mercy, compassion and justice. We muslims must strive to be the best people we can, with the best of character. A religion which allows all religions to be able to be freely practised. Let’s all coexist peacefully together❤️

If being a colony really held countries back, Liberia and Ethiopia would be doing better than the rest of Africa, not worse, India and China wouldn't be becoming developed countries, Haiti would be rich. Truth is, we did bring light to darkness, many places we colonized hadn't even invented the wheel, they had to writing system, we brought you people the rule of law, separation of church and state, modern technology, modern medicine, railways, Western thinking free from superstitious nonsense, sanctity of life etc.. That's why many Indians are proud to have been part of the British empire and that's why you don't hear the Indians or Chinese bitching about having been a colony, they recognize it had good sides and bad, like everything in the world. but overall it was a net positive. we did so much then why did the scientific revolution occurred in Europe . why did the industrial revolution occur England and not in ottoman empire . why was it that the first non European nation to develop and industrialize was japan not the ottomans who were still independent till 1918 before the war ended " Less than 30 years after the Meiji Restoration in 1868, the country had established a capitalist economy" 30 years japan industrialized in 30 years a nation which was at the edge of Asia and closed off for over 200 years . It time stop joking our self's most of the science done in the Islamic world was not used most of the population had forgotten the golden age of Islam and only got to know about it when western scholar's rediscovered it for us . most the discoveries in the last 600 years in Muslim lands was in small elites . 1580 a observatory build by the ottomans was destroyed because of religious reasons . the printing press had a ban on it "In 1515 the Ottoman Sultan Selim I, persuaded by the influential clerics of the realm, issued a decree that imposed death penalty on anyone using a printing press, invented in Germany in 1455, to print books in Turkish or Arabic. The ban remained in force for the next 270 years, till 1784" stop gloating about the past and deal with the present as to why we are lagging.if one dwells in the past to much he may be left in the past himself
Pakistani should understand Muslims who made many contribution were Arabs ,Persian ... Pakistani are claiming contribution of others to themselves ..It is like ...A Christian of African decent claiming glorify of Science discoveries of West....It is stupid ...

Hoodbhoy does not deny that islam had a golden past in science. The speaker above is twisting and manipulating facts. Hoodbhoy makes the very valid point that scientific research in Muslim societies today is in a pathetic state. The only good research from Muslims today is by Muslim scientist working in the west and not by those in Muslim societies. You need a reform in muslim society if scientific research is to be resussiticated. This cannot be done by harping on the glories of the past. Hoodbhoy emphasises the lack of critical thinking in the education system today, which needs to be changed.

Continued/... A few of the many scientific contributions and inventions by Muslims : To add to these, she is the Editor-in-Chief of Nano Today, an international peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to nanoscience and technology, and has 340 publications in leading journals. Also Prof. Ying has over 150 primary patents issued or pending, many which have been successfully licensed for commercialization by multinational companies and start-ups. One of the spin-off companies that she co- founded, SmartCells, Inc., has developed a technology platform that is capable of auto-regulating the release of insulin depending on the blood glucose levels. The development of glucose-sensitive nanoparticles How does it work? Prof. Ying’s laboratory developed glucose-sensitive nanoparticles that can auto-regulate the release of insulin depending on the blood glucose level. It’s a drug delivery system that bypasses the need for blood glucose monitoring by finger pricks. Instead of through injections, it allows insulin to be delivered orally or by nasal passage, benefitting the diabetic patients by helping to prevent hyperglycemic and hypoglycemic conditions and the associated organ damages. Fascinating, right?! For her great work and this research, she won the Mustafa Prize “Top Scientific Achievement” Award on 24 December 2015. A prize that is not only granted to research that improves human life, but also a $500,000 top award in science and technology granted biennially to the top researchers and scientists of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states. A special woman with a brilliant capacity and a role model for every Muslim and non-Muslim woman. Another example that shows the impact of women in science, a field that is mainly performed by men. Great Modern Innovations We Can Thank Muslims For Sebastian Christ HuffPost When thousands of “patriotic Europeans” took to the streets once again in Dresden to protest ( against Muslims) their actions were the result not only of resentment and fear, but also of ignorance. Luckily for us, our central European culture has benefited from Islamic influences for hundreds of years. If, on Monday evening in Dresden, one of the speakers adjusts his glasses, he probably doesn’t know he’s holding an invention from the Arab world. ..on their placards, the supposedly horrifying figures about immigration will be written in Arabic numerals. Here, the Huffington Post presents some of the things we owe to great Muslim civilizations. - Algebra Many Westerners, Germans in particular, are proud of their feats of technology and engineering. But where would engineers be without algebra? The mathematical system became known in Europe in the twelfth century, when British Arabist Robert of Chester translated the writings of Persian scholar Al-Khwarizmi. Al-Khwarizmi, for whom algorithms are named, is known as the developer of modern algebra. -The toothbrush Islam was the one of the first world religions to place particular emphasis on bodily hygiene. The Qur’an includes instructions for ritual washing. It is no wonder, therefore, that dental hygiene also grew in popularity as Islam did. Admittedly, the ancient Egyptians are thought to have chewed on twigs from the “toothbrush tree.” However, the twigs, also known as “miswak”, only became known to a wider public when the Prophet Mohammed regularly used them to brush his teeth. While there is no mention of miswak twigs in the Qur’an, they are mentioned many times in writings by Muslim scholars. - Marching bands Military marching bands date back to the Ottoman Mehterhane. These were bands which played during the entire battle and only ceased their music-making when the army retreated or the battle was over. During the wars with the Ottoman Empire, the bands are thought to have made a considerable impression on European soldiers - after which they adapted the principle for their own use. -Magnifying glass/glasses Not only did the Arab world revolutionize mathematics - it also revolutionized optics. The scholar Alhazen (Abu al-Hasan) from Basra was the first person to describe how the eye works. He carried out experiments with reflective materials and proved that the eye does not sense the environment with “sight rays,” as scientists had believed up until then. He also discovered that curved glass surfaces can be used for magnification. His glass “reading stones” were the first magnifying glasses. It was from these that glasses were later developed. Furthermore, Alhazen wrote important scholarly texts on astronomy and meteorology. Hospitals The first modern hospital with nurses and a training centre was in Cairo. In the Ahmed Ibn Tulun hospital (named for the founder of the Tulunid dynasty), which was established in the year 872, all patients received free health care - a Muslim tradition which was institutionalized with the advent of the hospital. Slightly more basic hospitals had existed prior to this in Baghdad. But it was the Cairo model which would later serve as the template for hospitals all around the globe. -Surgical Innovations The Andalusian-born doctor Albucasis (Abu al-Kasim) was one of the most significant medical figures of the Middle Ages. In the more than 30 volumes he wrote, the tenth-century Arab scholar described how important a positive patient-doctor relationship is, and argued for the same standard of medical care for all, regardless of social class. He also invented methods for surgically treating diseases of the urethra, the ear and the esophagus, and was the first person to describe an ectopic pregnancy. So great was his influence that he was still being quoted by leading European physicians in the 16th century. His ideas shaped modern surgery. This piece originally appeared on HuffPost Three scientists, one of whom a Muslim, have received the 2015 Nobel Prize for chemistry We all know what DNA stands for and it’s probably the most magnificent molecule in the world. But for many years people didn’t have any clue what our DNA was capable of or nor had anyone an idea about chromosomes. (Modern Muslim scientist )Aziz Sancar has mapped nucleotide excision repair. Basically, it means that cells use this mechanism to repair DNA damaged from UV radiation or mutagenic substances for example. He is also the first Turkish scientist and the third Muslim scientist who won a Nobel Prize for chemistry. The discovery of these machineries has shown that we can now understand more about how living cells function and that we can use this knowledge to find new cancer cells There are many more Muslim scientists and Muslim scientific contributions that I know of but these many suffice for now

John Haz I don't see any reason for the ha ha. I merely quote what the truthful non Muslim historians and researchers present as their collection of factual data and info. And what I typed was presented by a non Muslim CNN research and BBC as well. I trust Recent scholar and historian Bernard Lewis when he explains: "Greek science on the whole rather tended to be theoretical. Medieval Middle Eastern ISLAMIC SCIENCE WAS MUCH MORE PRACTICAL AND IN FIELDS SUCH AS MEDICINE, CHEMISTRY, ASTRONOMY, ALGEBRA ETC. THE classical heritage was clarified and SUPPLEMENTED BY THE EXPERIMENTS AND OBSERVATIONS OF THE MEDIEVAL MIDDLE EAST MUSLIMS...Muslims formulated disciplines of Arabic numerals, algebra, algorithms, trigonometry etc.>The Arabs invented what is known the > Arabic Numerals''. The Indians merely had conceptual primitive algebra according > to WIKIPEDIA so I don't get what you are claiming. Another resource records data as such in writings: Algebra and Muslims The word "algebra" is derived from the Arabic word الجبر al-jabr, and this comes from the treatise written in the year 830 by the medieval Persian mathematician, Muhammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī, whose Arabic title, Kitāb al-muḫtaṣar fī ḥisāb al-ğabr wa-l-muqābala, can be translated as The Compendious Book on Calculation by Completion and Balancing. The treatise provided for the systematic solution of linear and quadratic equations. The word 'al-jabr' presumably meant something like 'restoration' or 'completion' and seems to refer to the transposition of subtracted terms to the other side of an equation; the word 'muqabalah' is said to refer to 'reduction' or 'balancing'-that is, the cancellation of like terms on opposite sides of the equation. Arabic influence in Spain long after the time of al-Khwarizmi is found in Don Quixote, where the word 'algebrista' is used for a bone-setter, that is, a 'restorer'."[1] The term is used by al-Khwarizmi to describe the operations that he introduced, "reduction" and "balancing", referring to the transposition of subtracted terms to the other side of an equation, that is, the cancellation of like terms on opposite sides of the equation.[2] Symbolic algebra, in which full symbolism is used. Early steps toward this can be seen in the work of several Islamic mathematicians such as Ibn al-Banna (13th-14th centuries) and al-Qalasadi (15th century), ....... Static equation-solving stage, where the objective is to find numbers satisfying certain relationships. The move away from geometric algebra dates back to Diophantus and Brahmagupta, but algebra didn't decisively move to the static equation-solving stage until Al-Khwarizmi introduced generalized algorithmic processes for solving algebraic problems. Dynamic function stage, where motion is an underlying idea. The idea of a functionbegan emerging with Sharaf al-Dīn al-Tūsī.

the truth the do not teach in schools and universities Christians scientists who taught muslim scholars in islamic golden ages. the history of east christian who preserved and transmitted ancient knowledge to the Islamic world. the names of the Christians who transmitted knowledge to the Muslims people and Islamic world are as below: 1 Ibn al-Tilmīdh was a Syriac Christian physician, pharmacist, poet, musician and calligrapher of the medieval Islamic civilization. Ibn al-Tilmidh worked at the ʻAḍudī hospital in Baghdad where he eventually became its chief physician as well as court physician to the caliph Al-Mustadi, and in charge of licensing physicians in Baghdad. He mastered the Arabic, Persian, Greek and Syriac languages 2 Masawaiyh (Yuhanna ibn Masawaih) was a Persian or Assyrian Nestorian Christian physician from the Academy of Gundishapur. Academy of According to The Canon of Medicine for Avicenna and 'Uyun al-Anba for the medieval Arabic historian Ibn Abi Usaybi'a, Masawaiyh's father was Assyrian and his mother was Slavic. he came to Baghdad and studied under Jabril ibn Bukhtishu (a christian) . He wrote mostly in Syriac and Arabic. He was also the teacher of Hunain ibn Ishaq. 3 Bukhtishu (Bakhtshooa Gondishapoori) were Persian or Assyrian Nestorian Christian physicians family from the 7th, 8th, and 9th centuries, spanning 6 generations and 250 years. Jabril ibn Bukhtishu was one of the members of the family. 4 Shapur ibn Sahl was a 9th-century Persian Christian physician from the Academy of Gundishapur. Among other medical works, he wrote one of the first medical books on antidotes called Aqrabadhin (القراباذين), which was divided into 22 volumes, and which was possibly the earliest of its kind to influence Islamic medicine. 5 Ibn Zur'a was a medieval physician and philosopher. He was born in Abbasid Baghdad to an Syriac Jacobite Christian family. He was a student of Yahya ibn Adi(a christian). 6 Qusta ibn Luqa was a Syrian Melkite physician, scientist and translator. He was born in Baalbek. Travelling to parts of the Byzantine Empire, he brought back Greek texts and translated them into Arabic. He died in Armenia in A.D. 912. 7 Abu Bishr Matta ibn Yunus was a Christian philosopher who played an important role in the transmission of the works of Aristotle to the Islamic world. He is famous for founding the Baghdad School of Aristotelian Philosophers. 8 Abu Sahl 'Isa ibn Yahya al-Masihi (masihi is a christian term derived from Messiah). He was the teacher of Avicenna. He wrote an encyclopedic treatise on medicine of one hundred chapters (al-mā'a fi-l-sanā'a al-tabi'iyyah; المائة في الصناعة الطبيعية), which is one of the earliest Arabic works of its kind and may have been in some respects the model of Avicenna's Qanun. 9 Hunayn ibn Ishaq was a famous and influential Nestorian Christian scholar, physician, and a scientist from Mesopotamia, what is now Iraq. He and his students transmitted their Syriac and Arabic translations of many classical Greek texts throughout the Islāmic world, during the apex of the Islamic Abbasid Caliphate. 10 Salmawaih ibn Bunan was an Assyrian Nestorian Christian physician who translated works of Galen from Greek into Arabic. He served the Abbasid caliphs of Baghdad Al-Ma'mun (reigned 813-833) and his half-brother and successor Al-Mu'tasim (reigned 833-842). an Arab Nestorian Christian, who translated about ninety works of Galen into Syriac and about forty into Arabic. their are many other names as well (Ibn Na'ima al-Himsi, Ibn Uthal, Yahya ibn Adi, Theodore Abu Qurrah, Ammar al-Basri, Ibn Butlan). mostly teachers of Muslim scientists e.g (Avicenna, Al-Farabi) were christians.

Plus read the books adnan rashid suggested, you can watch the video of yasir qadhi titled: Mohammed pbuh - the most succesful leader in History (m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2LdeXSQh9N2rqM) and read the book apostate written by Joram van Klaveren (ex extreme right dutch politician who became muslim when actuallt studing the proper islamic sources with its context) and watch debates between muslims and others like Mohammed hijab/Adnan Rashid/hamza Tzortzis/ahmed deedat/saboor ahmed/ and more. I suggest you to look at the yaqeen website mentioned earlier to see the context of the controversial things islamophobes continuously try to scream or hide behind a computer but when challenged to a proper publoc debate with an islamic scholar they either run away, speak louder because ofcourse who is going to see you behind a computer or any other excuse or method they use to get out of it just like christian prince. I was an atheist and islamophobe for the first 21 years of my life and became muslim when I actually studied and listened neutrally what scholars had to say and what the proper main sources tell us. Anothet example is this brother who was a marine and as he says that his hate for islam was what kept him breathing, prayed in store to find the strenght to break the necks of 2 muslim women in burka' and tried to blow up an islamic center with around 20p casualties. But when entering the mosque, asked to learn about islam, gifted and read the quran and askeq questions, he became a muslim in 8 weeks. Here is his story: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/poKqXqJ_griVmdE The ones who spread hate are those who scream hatred. I donnot defend muslims but the religion of islam. The best human that has ever lived on the face of the earth is the prophet Mohammed peace be upon him. And the quran is the miracles of all miracles. If someone can do this I leave islam immediately: The biggest miracle of the quran is the arabic language in which it was sent down. The challenge in the quran states: And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, and Christians) are in doubt concerning that which We have sent down (i.e. the Qur'an) to Our slave (Muhammad Peace be upon him ), then produce a surah (chapter) of the like thereof and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allah, if you are truthful. [Qur'an 2:23] The smallest chapter of The quran only contains 10 words/3 lines (sentences/verses). If one can produce a chapter which is at the same level of the quran, than bring your witnesses if you are truthful in public. There and there I will leave islam for you. But if you can't than you should fear what might come (punishment) of the hereafter. Either produce this, have a public debate with an islamic scholar or otherwise just stay peaceful and respectful to others. You are the ones spreading hate Asallamo alekum
