The black dragon swooped down from the sky, it’s ancient wings propelling it towards the burning city below.The wind excluding from the dragons wings swept smoke and ash aside, leaving the sky clear for the dragons mighty entrance. Arrows began to ding and bounce on the dragons polished black scales, with one lucky shot zooming from a bell tower peircing a small crack between the dragons interlocking armor sinking into the animals flesh. The enraged wyrm swung its head towards the bell tower and incinerated it in one plume of flame, the force of the blast toppling the tower and sending white hot stones into the rabble of soldiers clad in blue firing at the dragon. Panicked screams and muttered oaths could be heard over the rubble. The dragon turned eastward, casting his shadow over the grand palace in the center, its grand columns and arches standing as a beacon of beauty in th center of plain government buildings. The dragon didn’t destroy the palace however as he appreciated good architecture. The black monstrosity finally sighted his target- the east gate, two tall doors of magically enchanted wood, held closed by a heavy iron beam the length of a Sailing ship. This was the dragons main purpose. What the General told him to do, what the attacking army was counting on. The gate was the only entrance into the city, the rest of it surrounded by a tall wall of black stone. Outside of the city there seemed to be a wave of red and black surrounding the wall, most of the soldiers converging on the main gate. The dragons allied forces seemed to be avoinding the walls of the city, for a reason the dragon didn’t know. Several soldiers were slowly wheeling battering rams toward the gate. On the defending side of the wall, blue forces were firing flaming arrows over the top, with little success as the red forces magical wards repelled them. Not willing to make the same mistake as the last encounter he dispatched the blue troops first, blasting the merciless flames into the enemy ranks. The soldiers outside of the wall cheered at the sudden sight of the imposing dragon. With most of the enemy ranks defending the gate ash piles the dragon burst a fireball at th gate. The orange sphere burst into the gate creating a loud boom that lasted a full five seconds.The dragon saw to his dismay once the smoke cleared that the gate was unharmed. The magic barrier protected the gate from harm.The Dragon hurled another ball of fire at the gate to the same affect. The dragon was growing increasingly frustrated. If the battle wasnt won then he wouldn’t get his treasure from the General. Gleaming silver coins and gems of every color! After all an ass kicking dragon to bolster your ranks didn’t come free. This black dragon was a particularly old one and had spent his whole life collecting his treasure hoard, worthy of the bards praise. But the General worked for the King, the richest in the country and the dragon simply couldn’t pass up this opportunity. If I can’t destroy the gate, the dragon thought then I will destroy the wall! The dragon turned his head toward the wall of black stone and baked towards it. As he got closer to the wall he felt a sense of drowsiness and began to fly slower. But the mighty beast was to involved in his task and ignored the feeling. He then mustered all his energy and blew one final burst of inferno from his gaping maw. The dark stones held however and refused to succumb to the wyrms powerful blast.By then the drowsiness took full hold of the dragons consciousness and the dragon fell asleep mid flight. His slumber was interrupted as the beast collided with the wall, his hard skull sending a section of the wall flying, dispelling the dark magic that held the dragon asleep. With the drowsiness spell gone a stream of red and blue troops swept into the city with a might cheer, engaging in meelee combat with the remaining blue forces the dragon hadn’t managed to skeletonize. The dragon, still delirious from the impact took off into the sky thinking of treasure of all kinds. His revelry stopped however when he saw the most beautiful sight in his long dragon life. A pure white dragon, sunlight gleaming from her metallic scales was flying over a band of blue soldiers, blasting them periodically with blue frost. The white dragon caught notice of the black one and flew over. They circled each other instinctively, appearing like a circle of two dragons from above. Hi hey each blasted a plume at each other, fire and ice meeting and combining to form a small sphere of what seems like a material of stone like material. It fell to the ground, lost in the smoke. Suddenly I the white dragon noticed something from the corner of her eye three blue soldiers on a nearby building holding up a dragon killing ballistae. The soldiers fired the single deadly shot at the black dragon. The oversized bolt streamed towards the black dragon. The White dragon bursted towards the bolt, flying in front of the black dragon just as the bolt hit the white dragon in the heart. The Dragon of White fell th the ground below with the mournful keen of the Black dragon following her body to the ground. The Black dragon realized then that there was more to life than treasure and, not bearing to see the corpse of the white dragon flew off towards the mountains. Deep under the many piles of ash that remained of the city,there lies an
