Yeah, the Klone comes out in 9 frames on the ground and in 4 frames in the air. So, it's the ideal armor-break tool for us. By the way, this was what I labbed after watching your video the other day! Originally, I made an entirely different video that focused on doing this mid-screen and trying to re-freeze the opp. But when I tested it online, nobody got frozen, nor did they get hit with the 50/50. So, I went back to the lab and used this in the corner and saw that it armor-breaks Cage easily - and 75-80% of the cast. Plus, when it's blocked, it puts an un-jumpable Klone right in the opponent's face. I never saw a Sub do any of this, so I said let me make sure that other Sub players at least know that he can do this. Plus, if I give it a name, people will spread it around easier to others.

@@mrAPchem yeah man that’s actually amazing work it’s so hard with sub zero the whole game you have to make god like reads just to win. He’s honestly one of the most hard working characters in the game to win with aside from havik at the highest level

If you do the safe jump mid screen with sektor. You can call missile and clone as you jump over them for a freeze that for some reason backturns the opponent.

this is why i play Darrius and sub. its a armor break every time i call clone out on knockdown. . Even if they decide to block they are still in a 50/50 situation

Woo! Finally seeing a video talking about this! Somehow I knew when you commented about the safe jumps it was gonna be this tech. I've been calling it an insta-freeze but that don't matter. To be straight, this did exist before, but it became wayyy more consistent with the klone-hitbox-during-hitstun buff. Even tho it deals less damage, this is my preferred way of armor-breaking because it's slightly safer, it can save meter, and because it looks downright disrespectful lmao. Try it with random jump-ins/ cross-ups too if you know your opponent is bad at up-blocking.

See, I had never seen anyone do this with Sub at all. I've never played against a Sub that did this either. But yes, with the Klone buff, this becomes very good in the corner because the opponent must block. If they don't, they get frozen again.

I think sik has already done this before. The dive kick is only optimal when you have pressure to win a positive trade to give you temporary benefit to win the combo momentum. Sik has already proved that Khameleon gives you the advantage to win the serial combos or punishes to give you success mid game.

I only use the divekick after this to armor-break characters that don't get broken by the Klone, which is a handful of characters. Otherwise, it's just better to use jump-punch-Klone.

Actually, I did record a set against a Takeda where I used all of my tech. That match sucks for Sub, but I nearly won it anyway.

The other way you can use this tech is doing the b2 b2 launcher into the jump 21 then clone, after the clone you do jump 2 then jump 12, there you go for the cross jump and you can also mix with b2 or b3

They can use an assist to tank the clone. Beware the random Shujinko

Yes, block then armor will work. However, if someone is doing that to you, then you're using the tech too frequently. Mix this up with the Universal Klone Setup to keep the opponent guessing.

This doesn't work. If they just hold block they can armor through it before sub recovers from clone. I just labbed it

@@danielkay6266 If an opponent actually does that to you, either it means that you've done it way too much in a set or you're fighting someone that is far more skilled than you are. Also, given the fact that people don't even punish a normal Klone that they know is coming, they aren't punishing this, unless it's for the aforementioned reasons.
