In reality, the Parrier never existed and the men who died, never lived. No records list the Parrier ever reaching any port and there are no records of a ship by that name under the Russian fleet during the Russo-Japanese War. After doing some more research it turns out the editor of the Special Features section had a habit of letting ghost stories with no basis in fact be printed. The following week on April 28th, 1907 the Chicago Tribune printed a story entitled “Did A Ghost Drive Mrs. Marshall Field Jr from Ashby St. Legers?”

there, life becomes real & that is to face our greatest challenges which (for many) is the loss of a member to our own house, being most traumatic to our personal experiences & harder to overcome than other tragedies.. twice, as we married & suffered on two episodes, the loss of a daughter & son - they both carried short of full term, passing due to complications of my wife's previous internal damage.. still, to date, they haunt my walk, and though neither were ever seen at any point beyond the sonograms that were taken for evidence, it is like they wait for us.. in time shall we meet... "the greatest fear may be to barely know what you will be unable to keep, and the challenge of living for those who were unable to know life - love transcends those harrows, saving us from a world which often lacks any.." - we pray that others are more able to live & know their sanctum of family.. -€πD- ~WarriorPoet~

Deidre, if there have been two things worth learning about in life for me, this is it: 1. You mean more than you could ever know. Most of the time it doesn't feel like it, but there are little pockets in life where you realize this. Hold on to those little moments, they keep you from voluntarily 'checking yourself out'. 2. True happiness is found in being there for others. Kindness to friends, loved ones and (especially) strangers brings a magical kind of life force with it. I'm glad you decided to stay here. Now this is a really strange and dark, mysterious story. All I can think what would cause the chaos on the boat is some kind of gas. Maybe fumes from the engine or wherever they was keeping the cargo, hemp fumes. You just never know the full details exact unless you we're there. It's definitely a head scratcher for sure.

I agree, I wonder if there was something like mercury on board that they were coming into contact with regularly without knowing and they became "mad as hatter's"?
@Palach62410 ай бұрын
On the other hand I was inclined to think it might be the case because after climbing on board and leaving crew compartments they apparently would get better. However, I don't think there's a gas that makes people scream randomly and apparently several dozen at the same time. Who knows, could be natural case of fume poisoning and mass delusion, could be something else that is beyond our understanding.

That's damn unsettling stuff. I wonder if there was a gas leak that wasn't accounted for on board, or something of a similar nature. You would think if nothing else, the captain would call an exorcist for peace of mind the first time, even if he didn't believe in that sort of thing.
@jabronisauce68339 ай бұрын
Nah the story is just made up, just an old timey horror story made up to take off the boredom of everyday life and something to say at bars and or to sell papers. Truth is likely the crew just abandoned the ship after completing their work. Not like they’d be easily tracked down for just dumping it somewhere and then someone’s made up this ridiculous and over the top tale.
@StephanieMelluish8 ай бұрын
@@jabronisauce6833Thanks for the clarification - I was curious what could have caused this behaviour, also.
@malachihormel79945 ай бұрын
If there is any kernel of truth to this story, mass hysteria is always a good copout. For instance, it could've been a single event of someone experiencing a night terror, then the people waking up to the noise begin screaming in response out of confusion. Everyone flees the cabin screaming, in the commotion someone falls overboard and is tragically lost at sea. Sailors of the time being highly superstitious, just believe the ship is cursed and abandon it at the next stop. Retellings are embellished, and a haunted ship is born.

Very interesting story. I’m a paranormal investigator and if there’s something that is a sign of bad spirits it’s warm air. No one in the field knows why this is, but mostly we experience cold pockets of air and those spirits are normal spirits, but when on the rare occasion that we experience warm air bad things tend to happen. I have a team and whenever this has occurred one of the members experience strange things and usually quits afterwards. We had one woman in the team that began crying hysterically without knowing why, she panicked which was quite understandable. At the same time my daughter who is a medium began grinning like a lunatic, something she’s seen videos of but can’t remember at all. On another occasion a man in the team began clawing his face while laughing, and two weeks later he had a mental breakdown and quit the team. Sometimes it’s a smell of rotten eggs, sometimes a warm breeze. So this story intrigued me greatly! Then again, I’ve never experienced any bad content from Mr Ballen, only top notch content. I wish you all a great new year! 👍🏻🙌🏻🇸🇪👻

I can find some info on it, but it’s very difficult for a couple of reasons. For one, I keep getting the Haunting of Queen Mary for some reason? My best guess is that the movie is based on this incident. Another reason is that “Perrier”, is the name of a sparkling water brand, so searching up “Perrier Ship”, just gives you a bunch of that. And then there’s the fact that Mrballen himself has such a big presence that I’ve even found a couple articles just talking about this video. I’ve only managed to find good info by searching “Ship Perrier Haunting”

Never let the truth get in the way of a good (ghost) story! No ship named the Parrier ever existed as part of the Russian fleet naval or merchant. The story also was retold decades later in the 1940s with the same crew named but now with a ship name of the Ivan Vassili, which also never existed. Regardless, as always Mr Ballen has told a crackin' fireside tale of horror and who knows, maybe this story is based on the truth with names of ships lost to time or through the retelling.

Legers?” The article states Mrs. Marshall Field Jr lived in the manor where Guy Fawkes conspired to kill King James the first in the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 until a ghost drove her from her home in 1907. The issue with the story is a Mrs. Marshall Field Jr never lived in the manor. In 1903 it was sold to Ivor Guest the 1st Viscount Wimborne.
